Jerusalem Gay Pride: Six stabbed 'by ultra-Orthodox Jew'

The man was identified as Yishai Schlissel who was released from prison just 3 weeks ago after serving 12 years for stabbing three people at the same parade in 2005 , two people in this attack remain in a serious condition.
A photographer captured the moment Schlissel reached for his knife to start his attack.

Eyewitnesses told Israel's Haaretz newspaper that the attacker emerged behind marchers and began stabbing them while screaming, before being tackled by a police officer.
Dramatic images showed the assailant reaching inside his coat and raising a knife above his head behind a group of young people on the parade.
Yishai Avior told Israel's Channel 2 TV he heard screaming and saw three people on the ground bleeding.
"People ran in every direction to take cover,'' he said. "There was immense panic and shock."

It's a mad world when a person thinks he has the divine right to attempt to murder people for no other reason than their sexuality.

I find the timing rather odd, just let out of jail and the fact he wasn't being monitored at the Parade, and the fact they got this great photo just before he committed his heinous acts.

Wonder why murder is so much better than homosexuality? A little crazy there.

After spending 12 years in jail for committing a crime and then being arrested for the comitting the same crime again just after getting out of jail reaches an epic level of dumb-assery.

He didn't spend 12 years in prison.
His previous attack was in 2005.
He was let out supposedly three weeks ago after serving less than 10 years.

Hopefully he'll now be given life.

The thing that really annoys me, as it does in American cases, is that he's being called an "Ultra-Orthodox Jew", rather than what he actually is - a TERRORIST.

Why the f does it seem to be that Muslim = terrorist, but all others = crazy, or extreme, or ultra, or some other label.

People need to start calling ALL of these people what they are - TERRORISTS. I don't give a damn about the race, the nationality, the politics, the religion, the gender... if someone attacks other people for an ideology they are TERRORISTS.

I'm actually surprised something like this hasn't happened in Israel before now. They are under old testament law over there.

I don't know about a ban, but it would be nice to see religion become personal, instead of a knife-wielding public affair like this. They have a right to believe whatever they want. The rest of us have a right not to be assaulted physically or verbally.

"Terrorist" is thrown around too much. Especially in the last 15 years. This dude wasn't a terrorist. He's a whack job. IDK why they didn't hold him an additional 3 weeks to avoid this.

Not only did one photographer get a picture of him pulling the knife out but another captured him as he went in to the crowd stabbing people. Had police been that close I don't think we would have as many casualties as they did.

This guy should have been stopped and searched before even getting in the parade. Orthodox Jews aren't the type to be marching there anyway.

Sad story all around.

Terrorist? No. That's giving this whacko way too much credit. Now, he probably did instill fear in a few people, but that doesn't change the fact he's a nut job with a messianic complex.

It's semantics, but I've got to agree with Intrepid here. "Terrorist" is tossed around way too much, and is used as a weapon against people who likely don't deserve the appellation. He's a nut, a criminal nut.

Just to be clear the Bible still does not permit murder.
