I know we all want to be accurate when we post on ATS, but I really screwed up and I'm sorry. I posted an article from a satire site that had been repeated as a real story on several other sites. I hate it when that happens! LOL!

Anyway, I'm going to remember that if it sounds too crazy to be true, check snopes.

The comments would have been hilarious if they were not serious, but they WERE serious.

People need to be careful and vet stuff, the BS is thick this election on both sides.

I did it once when I thought a hand puppet was a real dinosaur...

I don't think it gets any worse than that to be honest.

My next thought: Well, it really isn't that far fetched, given who the subject is. Honestly, if i saw it on a typically legit news site, i wouldn't have disbelieved it either.

I'd have to echo what others have ready said. It's not like you are known for doing things like that and it's not something you do all of the time. It happens to the best of us and your reputation lets everyone know that you certainly weren't doing it to pass something off you knew was fake.

It's ok. I know that we are most often harder on ourselves than others are... Give yourself a break and have a giggle at it after the sting fades.
