So you realized the government media was a piece of junk and all the forums online are similarly damage control for their military rapists and their government drug plantations and their psychological warfare on the public. And you're still on ATS, a front company for the same? Hell, some of the moderators on ATS they check their conspiracies and they are sell outs for politicians. You think they care? No, they would rather do a warrantless house search and microwave your cat, like they did mine in Arizona 2009.

Sometimes I forget that they are still evil. Now I remember.

We will have to become sane before we can change our world. Life can get really bad, and we will just adjust our expectations as required to play the game of life. We are village taught to roll with the punches lest we be perceived as weak and useless. We have all suffered some forms of mental trauma and manipulation. However, it's hard to get psych help. Look at all the crazy shooters who were never helped. There are so many approaches to psychology, it might not even be worth it. We can only start on the path to sanity and take others with us.

Here is how we start. People need to drop superstition. Understanding our insignificance to the universe reveals life far more important than gods' play. We, as a species, need to recognize our insignificance. We need to know there is no calling for help from supernatural forces. There is no ultra double plus afterlife. We struggle to survive. We die. These truths will increase our efforts to lengthen and enhance our lives. May we all live long and prosper.

I understand that I may have slightly disturbed a person or 2 with my post. I am painfully aware that the truth hurts.

Troops on the streets? Civilian internment camps for "political dissidents" and "extremist groups"? Black site reeducation dungeons? Bank holidays? Bank haircuts(open blatant theft)? Wesley Clark's precrime system?

What will it take for people to wake up and get out of the corporate owned two-party dictatorship?

It pains me to say that if people ever actually wake up it will be far too late to do anything about it. It seems people would rather die than accept that a) their world view is wrong and terribly oversimplified and b) their willful ignorance is the cause of all the sh*t we're in. Sigh

I was having the exact thought myself just the other day, and I have it often.

The other day I was leading a tour and a bus full of 30 tourists and I was pointing out many obvious things in a discussion on the front of the bus about how weird the world has become.

And it was so weird. It was the first time I realized how brainwashed everyone is to the extent that it is obvious. The people around me just got real quiet and dazed-liked and had nothing to say---and these were people who have lived through the 1960's, etc. I mean, they've been alive long enough to know that everything is totally out of whack. But when you point it out to them, they almost go into a trance. I'm serious.

I've seen it before when I've gently pointed things out to a group full of people and I'm coming to believe that somehow people really are brainwashed or hypnotized in some weird way.

Sometimes they'll agree with you---like, yeah, the student loan crisis is a huge scam or voting is probably just a huge scam but they inevitably end up saying, "What are you gonna do?" and they shrug their shoulders.

Someone on the bus said that very thing and I said, "What do you mean what are you going to do? You know what to do. You need to stand up and protest, stand up and be heard. Why is everyone so lethargic about important things that are happening to their lives and the lives of their families?"

But that's as far as you're likely to get with most people. If they do admit that something is seriously wrong, they don't want to get to a solution. They completely tune out.

There are people who have been born in the last 50 years who are unable to by hypnotized or fooled easily. People here on ATS, for example (most people). These are the people who are charged with saving the world.

You're the one on the bus asking people to engage in conversations, in being solution-orientated, in using their brains for a change.

You're the one reading alternative news, questioning authority, planning for an uneasy future.

If that's you, then you are charged with leading others out of this mess. You have to speak up. You were born to do this.

I both know and understand the feeling. I've been paralyzed by words before. Blanking out is a coping mechanism. When there is no cult or TV show to defend our carefully guarded constructs, we play possum.

We obviously need constructs to function as a society, but people have been constructed for eons by government information films all over the world. We've been sold to our brands, and we payed our own way. Our species seems to like this business deal. People don't like being removed from their cozy constructs. I'm guessing any hint of stark naked life forces them to think in less than cozy ways.

I know exactly what the OP is talking about. I guess being on ATS has woken me up a little to what's going on. Sometimes when something is mentioned is the news, I'll comment on it, just for my friends to look at me like I'm a bit weird.
Maybe we all look into things too much and should just be like the rest, be ignorant and not worry about things.

Two short vids that connect dots right to the Pentagon .Yea it's the Bankers the this or that but it's usually the guy with the biggest gun that calls the shots .
They really need to be questioned in so many ways for being involved so deeply in politics

The general person isn't very intelligent, and far too trusting of others who have titles. That is what lies at the root of the current affliction.
The way I see it, about forty percent of the population is "awake" or aware of what's going on and sixty percent are just as "asleep" as they ever were. Personally, I think that's the best it's ever going to get.
We live in a society where knowing about Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber is considered "knowledge," and knowing about the goings on around the world and the inner workings of the government is viewed as "useless." Sad state of affairs.

Be ignorant and not worry about things? As if pretending not to see it makes what's happening in this world okay?

Are you glad the patriots of America stood up to the English and formed their own country?

Are you glad that the concentration camps of WW II were finally discovered?

Are you glad that everyday children who have been sold into sex slavery are found and rescued?

Because if your answer is yes, then what you need to know is that behind each action I mentioned above, there was someone who didn't have his head in the sand. There was someone who saw the injustice and made a move to create change, to alleviate suffering, and to stand up for what is right.

I'm ashamed of you for even suggesting that people look the other way. YOU are what's wrong with the world. Not the people who actually care.

OK, maybe all media isn't so bad...

I admit I've been branded by entertainment like Star Wars, Star Trek, and BattleBots. I like to feel I get something tangible from these escapes. Escape through entertainment seems to be part of us. When we merge that with storytelling, we get education. We should probably tell some good stories and drown out the propaganda.

I hope not. I hope people swallow their pride and admit something is wrong and its our apathy that is aggravating the problem.

We ain't seen nothing, yet. It gets much, much worse. We had the opportunity to do something, back in September 2001. Instead, the people went right back to sleep. Ain't no wakin' back up, this time.

What is even worse is that some idiots who think they have awakened to the ghastly political reality we have are passivized and spurred into acquiescent paranoid malcontent by henchmen like Alex Jones who is too much of a buffoon to be anyone other than a henchman. Alex Jones foists a myth of the insuperable might of the world controllers and uses language calculated to convince people of a powerlessness that is perceived rather than real. His words decrease self-efficacy among those who in their fatuousness convince themselves they are awake but in reality they are being played. Those who have really awakened are smart enough to wade through disinformation henchmen and arrive at a compromise truth that is more realistic. Alex Jones stultifies the entire movement with his idiotic doomsayer fervor. I am surprised that people like Ron Paul even agree to interview such a rabid lunatic

I applaud the virtuoso productions produced by creative agents in the movie industry. The well-designed productions are diversions to be sure but they also prompt critical thought that is indispensable and deeply important. The problem is that we have too many diversions to mitigate the malcontent we have been thrust into. The real abhorrent agents are the cable news media. They reduce discussions to constrain the scope of thought and they used calculated narratives to steer the sheep and monopolize their quibbles. It is a hypnotizing force that lionizes celebrity stories of little consequence or prepossesses over instances of isolated gun violence. There is never room for a structural debate...there is never room for a serious reconsideration of prison-industrial tyranny. They indemnify themselves by catering to fools and establishing symbolic narratives to divide and conquer. There is so much content on the internet that the smart people who are resourceful will find the most relevant information while the rest will vegetate on viral videos

Good news, buddy, we don't have Troops on the streets, Civilian internment camps for "political dissidents" and "extremist groups, Black site reeducation dungeons or Bank holidays. So you're good. Maybe you should just sit down and relax.
