She ignored advice and paid the price , although the price was slight perhaps she will learn from it and think before she acts in the future.

Unconditional love does not equal condoning idiotic behavior and tough love is free.

Unfortunately... I hate to be cliche but idiots like this are going to ruin it for everyone else. I love Yellowstone because of how natural it is, no fences, no barricades, etc. But the more time this happens, the more likely people are going to start proposing fencing and such to "protect" people.

The Disneyfication of the world is one of the culprits.

All animals are warm and cuddly, and speak American english.

That and some people are just plain stupid. It's like people who want to get close to deer in their back yards, then get stomped and kicked by Bambi.

'cause Bambi ain't all warm and cuddly. He's an eight hundred pound sack of angry masquerading as a moose in rut...

Wild animals, no matter the size, are dangerous. Not could be. Are. Get too close at your own peril.

Stupid, stupid people.

I think all the fresh air turns people's brains to mush in the summertime. People see animals out in the forest and their common sense goes right out the door. Not only do they do things that could hurt themselves but also hurt other people. Like stopping in the middle of the road on a blind curve😡😡

Our CREATOR already knows that I plan on telling HIM/HER that I am concerned about you all.

So why bother telling him/her?

If Bisons were banned, this wouldn't have been an issue.

Just yesterday, in the hardware store, we were laughing about the bear selfies, after seeing an extendable device to hold a cell phone so someone could take a picture from a distance!

Now, they are moving on to bison? Wow.......

I live here in Jackson, WY, which is 60 miles south of Yellowstone and attached to Grand Teton National Park. We have our own herd of buffalo, about 400 of them in the valley here and its the same thing. And that goes for moose and elk and griz and black bear... and we call these people Tourons (tourist/moron). There are warning signs everywhere and still... people block traffic, cause accidents, get far far too close (obviously, as goes with the initial post), and continue to act in ways that in other ages, would result in their deaths. Society today coddles the idiots, idiots breed, and... well.... the shape of the world just goes to show that its not survival of the fittest, or smartest. A buffalo can outrun a horse on a short course. A buffalo can run near 40 miles an hour and weighs close to a ton. People travel and pay money to see wild animals then expect them to act like housepets. Duhhhhh

Agreed! The government needs to build a trans-Yellowstone railroad on the public dime. There, they could set up forward operating posts and have the military eradicate those pesky prairie vermin that thought they could hide in Yellowstone. They've grown quite bold after all these years it seems.

Tourons...I like that, I am going to use that on the idiots we get up here. We had a project in the Tetons a few years ago, so we would stay in Jackson (loved it there) and drive out to the site. You had extra drive time for all the animals, especially the bison.

It was the off season so there were not many tourists yet, I have to say the patience the Rangers had for these people was amazing. Most of these people were older people, who should have known better than to get so close, they by no means were going to outrun any of the animals.

You are spot on an I moved from a city life to a place similar to your and quickly learned the do's and don't of wildlife interaction. Which is mostly leave them alone and give them space because most animals can kill you! The tourons as you call them can really cause problems and do really stupid things like stop on a super dangerous road to take photos of a bear on the side of the road and wonder why a car plows into them. I've seen people even try to get close to moose and black bear and was just like WTF are they doing lol.

If darwin is to thank for this, no thanks. Even if the woman or others can be blamed for being dumb, I wish not to be in a universe where I'm witness such potentially gruesome scenes.

Imagine it was your own son or mother who was gored?

**** evolution. It's a messy disgusting circus with too much blood and screams. What warped mind can see beauty in it? That ain't a mind, tha'ts a zombie. A universe-infected zombie blind to its infection.

The park's roughly 4,000 buffalo are generally uninterested in the activities of visitors

Ha ha . I had an experience while visiting Yellowstone that was quite the opposite . Quick story , not far in and we were held up up by a small red car . Stopped as you do and noticed a bison up a short slope on the side of road . Well mr/mrs bison was pissed about something and charged down the slope and stopped inches short of the car . Well we are falling over each other trying to get our video cameras whe the bison trotted back up the hill , head butted a tree several times and charged the car again stopping just short .Never got the video and the bison just walked away . Next clearing we found out that a mother grizzly and her cub had just gone over a hill minutes before . When my American mate said , you want to see a grizzly one is just over that hill i replied , yeah right , thats not going to happen .
