A wiseman once said (I`m paraphrasing) in a democracy you get the government you deserve. I think he was saying that in a democracy where the people elect their leaders those leaders will be a direct reflection of the people who elected them.
With the douchebag leaders we have, why would you expect the people who elected them to be any less douchebagish than the people they elected?
yes the government and the country is beyond repair, at this point the best that you can do is to try to get as much as you can from the government before it inevitably goes down the drain.
