Yes it is and I've also watched a couple of his videos.
He has a new one which he says puts the final nail in the coffin and I found it fascinating.
He talks of evolution and more but then finishes the second half with why he thinks the earth is flat.
I've been trying to post the video but I'm having problems.

Either way, I think it's worth watching and it'd be good to hear some views on that video alone.

the problem is the earth orbits the sun with a 365 day [ aprox for discussion ] period thus , the unlit side of the earth moves around the sun - thus all constalations can be seen - its basic astronomy

The main points of contention for Flat Earthers are the flight paths over the Southern hemisphere and that Antarctica is restricted. The flight paths are governed by international flight law regarding flying over large expanses of water (there is much less land in the Southern hemisphere), but this could be argued as a conspiracy. Antarctica is a natural and fragile habitat that has been agreed to be protected by international governments for the benefit of all mankind, but this too could be argued as a conspiracy.

However, if you and two friends were to mark out three points of a triangle in a large enough area, you would find that the angles do not add up to 180 degrees – it would be a higher number. This ONLY happens when the triangle is measured on a convex curved surface (on a concave surface the sum of the angles would be LESS than 180 degrees, on a flat surface the angles would be EXACTLY 180 degrees). If you were to calculate those angles and apply them to a globe they would match exactly, give or take the equatorial bulge and a couple other factors.

Only very simple, gullible and conspiratorial minds believe the Earth is flat.

I seriously question the integrity and credibility of not only the people that advocate this theory, but also the websites where it is advocated. I was quite excited about finding this place, but now I'm not quite so enthusiastic.

The motto of this website is currently 'Deny Ignorance'. I think it should be changed to 'Embrace Ignorance'.

I don't see anywhere that ATS advocates for the "Flat Earth" theory but I could be wrong, feel free to point that out though and I'm also pretty sure this thread has a big fat skunk on the top of the page.

How does a flat-earther explain day and night? How does a flat-earther explain time-zones?

They don't land every 6 hours, they can't fly over water for more than 6 hours at a time.

Phage, I greatly appreciate your input and participation. But may I please ask that we don't let this become a contentious or argumentative thread? I know you can help me with this. I really do want Flat Earth proponents to speak their minds, and while discussing and debating viewpoints and evidence is bound to happen, could you help me to try and keep everyone from escalating beyond that?

There are also large proven energy reserves in the Alaskan Anwar area, yet the government prohibits drilling there to preserve the land. The idea of trying to maintain Antarctica in as pristine a state as possible has significant merit. And it is also a fantastic scientific resource. The great majority of the landmass is and arid frozen desert. And it is one of the closest analogues the the Martian environment. Research into the microscopic life there can help us understand the possibilities for life elsewhere and what should look for to find it.

Fair enough, but that has nothing to do with the premise of this thread. That video details 'ideal' time zones set by each governing body; whereas there is actually a motive behind having set time zones dependent on longitude. Flat-earthers cannot scrape an argument together to battle this, and the good old 'day and night' thing we have.

By the way, thanks for the video, very interesting. Can't believe the mess some of those boundaries are in!

How thick do flat earthers think our disc is? ie why not just drill through and prove your theory (or not).

Also what do flat earthers think is on the other side of our disc?

I'm guessing they imagine it quite like a pizza, with the antarctic 'wall' being the crust... We're basically floating in space on top of a pizza.

Call Number: G3201.B71 1892 .G54x maps.bpl.org... 1892 is rather recent and it seems to be very professionally done .Its free to down load and can be zoomed in for some of the details .

The position of the sun, moon and stars in the sky, coupled with instant communications that we have in today's world, kills any idea that the Earth is flat.

For an observer who is say, on the east coast of the US in New York, is looking at the sun as it's setting. At the time, he might look at the sun while it is 15 degrees above the horizon still.

At that exact same time, if our person in New York calls a person living in California, and asks them to look at the sun, they will report that it is much higher in the sky than 15 degrees.

If the Earth were flat: both observers would see the sun at 15 degrees at that exact moment.

However, they do not. Instead, there is a difference in the angle of observation of each observer. They only way this can happen is if the surface that the observers are standing on is curved.

Even if the entire day and night time sky were some huge hologram (as been suggested), or that the Earth is really flat and the center of everything with everything going around it, the observations of what the sun, moon and stars and their positions are a dead giveaway that the surface of the Earth is in fact curved and not flat.

The math and geometry does not lie.
