You still did not answer his question.

Thank you for you fantastical invalid fallacy example, but that also applies to you for the truth of a round earth to your flat earth.

I don't care about the shape of "our land", I care for an answer to my question because it completely relates to the flat earth theory.

If you cannot answer it because you do not know the answer or have the knowledge, it is fine to state that and have another person answer it! It does not make you look dumb, however continued avoidance of the question with narrative stories of Christmas and children in them does make you look that.

PS: I have 3 Boys, who are staying with their Dad this Christmas many thousands of KM's away, so I cannot relate to them that story.

Costs about 100k to go into orbit these days...

people do it all the time

What are you talking about? You mean programs still in development?

Hmm... maybe

I could have sworn i read about a space tourism company somewhere... Seems after digging around it may be something coming in the near future...

the average price for a trip to space is actually about 20 million... and only a few people have done it apparently

Honestly, no disrespect, if that was actively possible i would put a second mortgage on my land and house, take us both up their because i have been dreaming about that since i was 5 years of age and putting together a puzzle of an astronaut walking on a surface of an alien planet.

Well you missed it Russia had 7 paying guests at the international space station. Though they are planning on restarting there tourist program again in 2018 better start saving it isn't cheap. Anousheh Ansari payed 20 million for her trip. Maybe they will hold another contest that winner got to go for free.

this thread - indeed all " flat earth "threads

are going nowhere - and the real problem - is the utter lack of flat earther science

any scientific theory has to be able to make testavle predictions of reality

this is why i keep repeating the question about the distance from sydney to perth [ asutralia ] - because given thier latitude and longitude - i can CORRECTLY calculate the distance between any 2 points on earth that - using the assumption of the speriod model - and find the calculation to be accurate

repeat for all other testable senarioes

the flat earth delusion cannot do this - so it fails

I could start a war here with one simple statement.

THE EARTH IS FLAT.

lol

ok... well its very possible with the right amount of money...

So, does no-one supporting FE want to explain why the stars in the southern hemisphere appear to rotate around a fixed point and in the opposite direction to the stars in the northern hemisphere?

Or how Australia can have longer summer days than nights given that a small close sun could never do this to "rimward" continents?

To be fair someone did reply with "I don't know" but be honest the two above points destroy FE without relying on any NASA or government.

a better example - and a flat earth killer is

polaris // crux // sigma octanis

from 10 degrees north to 20 degrees north - at any point of longitude [ assuming the true horizon is visible ]

then both polaris and crux can be sighted

polaris is always true north [ magnetic compass bearing ] and at any longitude crux has an identical compass bearing

now - travel to 20 degrees south - and crux still has the same compass bearing as it did in the northern hemisphere

polaris cannot be sighted - under any conditions - opps

but now signma octanis is due south [ magnetic bearing ] and at any longitude - the azimuth between crux and sigma octanis remains identical

cue - flat earth cultists heads explode

so much for the flat earth delusion

How is that explanation regarding gravity coming along? I am working on answers to all your questions, but it is clear to me that noone wants to touch some of the points I made.

I see some valid questions from your side but most of your arguments are invalid, trying to disprove FE with BE logic and a lot of circumstantial stuff.

I'll be back.

Deepest hole ever drilled so far is 12 kilometers and some change deep. They don't know how can we know.
edit on 24-12-2016 by NNN87 because: (no reason given)

That would be due to elevations...
Why can't you see Russia or China just for 2 examples from North America with a telescope from the beach of either Ocean?
Yet you can follow the horizon beyond the atmosphere into space...
Hmmm?

A turtle.

Or, an infinite number or turtles on turtles.

L.O.L haven't seen you around in a while.

btw claiming that it is multiple turtles is heresy! IT is just 1 turtle and it is encoded into the animated tv series "TMNT", we all who are in the know know this! (was i being to redundant there?)

I did say that what we call gravity is due to matter warping spacetime. I accept that 100% of the details are not known but our current theories of gravity explain most observations perfectly well.

No they don't, we were discussing this and you didn't respond anymore. Now you respond, but you still ignore the question I asked you.

You said that teh water is falling. I asked you through what medium. Where is teh water falling to?

As far as I understand it, the water, like all matter is "falling" through curved spacetime.

On Earth that curvature is towards the center of the planet as it is the mass of Earth that warps spacetime.

The suns mass also warps spacetime which causes the gravity that gets the planets to be in orbit.

This is from the OP...I guess your comprehension skills are lacking...you sound very aggressive

I am not here to debate the issue. I'm not going to engage in an argument for either side of this topic. Now, I can't promise anything about other members of this site of course. But I will ask that if you oppose the Flat Earth theory, please do not use this thread to attack others, shout down their reasons, or anything else along those lines. I am trying to have an open flow of ideas
