It's 15 months before the election.

WHO ARE YOU VOTING FOR?

It might help us if we knew where you were coming from in order to better facilitate our replies.

Indeed id be quite interested in who his prospects include, well , you know, out of the two, who best represents him

After reading some of the posts in this thread, I don’t know whether to feel comfort in that this, too, will somehow work it’s way out in the end and that good will ultimately prevail, or whether to just go ahead and cut my own throat and hurl myself out the window onto the street far below.

It amazes me how 2 people can look at the very same thing, and yet see something so totally different. Unfrigginreal...

I’ve always been proud of my country in the past, but it’s getting harder and harder these days for me to admit being an American. Unlike the respect and admiration we used to garner from the rest of the world, we’re viewed now through a lens of distrust and disrespect. The rest of the world now sees us as the greatest terrorist threat on the planet. We just totally destroyed Iraq and threw the region into a state of absolute chaos and mayhem. And, yes, I blame Bush for that! And if that’s not enough, we have neocon republicans still beating the drums of war and suggesting we bomb Iran next. What kind of country are we? We’ve become the biggest rogue country in the world. I don’t trust us anymore!

I can only imagine what the rest of the world is thinking as they watch the Republican Party candidates running for President over here. The Barnum & Bailey Circus had nothing on this freak show. Some of the rhetoric spewing out of the foaming mouths of these lunatics is so absurdly stupid, thoughtless, threatening and delusional it lays bare what a toxic waste dump our political system has become. Not only have these candidates turned this country into a laughing stock on the world stage, they’ve done it with such profound ignorance and pride.

I guess by totally screwing the state of Wisconsin over, that makes Scott Walker a viable candidate for the Republican nomination. He’s a totally self-serving puppet of the Koch Bros, and a danger to this nation. In light of that, I’m quite sure he’ll find much success and prosper. It’s the American way...

Well, it’s been fun, but I gotta run.

PS: Maybe I’ll write in Larry Flynt for President this time. He’s got some pretty good ideas, ya know...

except the polls say overwhelmingly that they liked Walker in Wisconsin, thats why they voted for him...

If the Dems were so great why did they vote in a Repub after all these years?

That being said, hes not my candidate

you automatically jump to the conclusion walker wants to go to war w Iran

I'm sorry to say OptimisticCynic but Walker clearly wants war, so do many of the GOP candidates save for Rand Paul. We all know this. It's just an unfortunate reality. When you have people who believe diplomacy is not an option at all, and with the reality that sanctions haven't been working (we've had sanctions since 1979 piling up and they've been ineffective), there's no other option than war or some sort of attack. This is the only solution people like Walker have and I'm sorry, I don't find this acceptable.

Do you think military action should be taken against Iran? This is not a loaded question, I'd appreciate your actual position on this.

You forget there are other countries in the region ready to slam the hammer down on them if they get a nuke

Countries like Israel? Who've been arguing since 96 that Iran is months away from getting the bomb? There are some countries that have agendas, including Israel that holds a number of undeclared nuclear weapons themselves. Frankly they haven't made enough of case that Iran is an immediate thread nuclear wise.

Not only that any member that comes on and makes a comment get attacked by your hateful tone

If you can't take the heat, get out the kitchen. I've seen alot of hateful comments on this forum. At the end of the day, people have a right to hate on others. Just don't expect that the same not be dished out in return.

Answers like these?

1. Obama's a nasty man!
2. You just hate people for posting!
3. Hillary is an old hag! She's a socialist!
4. Liberals are bad people!
5. People accuse Republicans of being racist!
etc. etc.

No I don't consider these answers to whether that person agrees Walkers position on Iran. Obviously you think they're answers as they serve to deflect attention away from the OP.

Keep it up though.

When you ask loaded questions, expect loaded answers.

This ain't our first rodeo.

So who are you voting for and why? Will Hillary/Bernie keep us out of Iran?

Bernie and Warren will. I don't like Hillary, she's a war hawk too, but her stances on the environment and equal rights makes her a better choice than Bush. You would think Rand Paul would be the most anti war candidate on the right....

I would hope like hell that every candidate would be anti-war.

Except "drony-the-clown-Obama!"

WEll with all of the golden parachutes, the bail outs and ins, the closing of the best chain stores, I wonder if they plan to bring the fight to America? Jade helm could be preparedness for our own border states and not preparation for large scale cities elsewhere like they claim.

I think Hillary and everyone on the right is pro-War....I think Hillary and everyone on the right would continue drone strikes.

I don't think Sanders/Warren will continue drone strikes.

When you ask loaded question

It's a rather simple question. People just don't want to come out and have to defend their position. I believe there are many who support Scott Walker. It's just an inconvenience that war in the middle east is unpopular nowadays. People would rather the focus be on those horrible libs.

who are you voting for and why? Will Hillary/Bernie keep us out of Iran?

I don't like Bernie. His positions are alittle too far left for me.

Hillary? I'm not too sure about another Clinton in the whitehouse. I'd take her over the other GOP candidates (save Rand) any day but she'll probably continue the same Corporate regime.

Do I think Hillary or Bernie will keep us out of Iran? Well they haven't said they'd break off all diplomacy with Iran, they haven't towed the line of war with Iran, so no. If Hillary was to come out and say the same thing as Walker then yes, I'd agree she's going to attack if she makes the whitehouse. Since she hasn't, neither has Bernie, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. The same with Rand.

I think the only candidate in the GOP that hasn't towed the line of 'bomb Iran' is Rand.... but then again he did sign that letter Joe Cotton sent to Iran afew months back stating the diplomatic agreement will be void under the GOP whitehouse so... not sure about him.

Who do I actually support in the elections? I'm going to pretend Dennis kucinich is running again...

Well, it looks like Hillary is your pick.

You might get a clearer answer from the rest of us after the debates and closer to the elections.

I mean, 15 months out and you're trying to pin us down over the Iran issue.

Right now, the Iran issue still belongs to Obama. (or Bush, depending on how far back you want to blame)

Bernie is a guy I don't agree with at all. And I've been getting heat because I like him.

I mean, I don't agree with him, but the man is honest!

And that is something I find rare in any politician.

Isn't that the best we can do? The most honest guy?

Keep in mind that there would be republicans in congress and the supreme court balancing out his views. He couldn't just walk in there and do everything on his agenda, but I think people respect him and would work with him.

I doubt it. The truth is, most of Walkers and Jeb's supporters will continue to deflect and avoid addressing their positions on Iran. The debates won't change this. Supporting war is too politically inconvenient. People are too spineless to come out and explain away why they think it's justified to put men and women in more harms way, in another unnecessary war.

I mean, 15 months out and you're trying to pin us down over the Iran issue.

And why not? It's already the election season. Frankly we have 13 major GOP candidates already in the running, one serious Democratic contender (I don't take Bernie seriously, he doesn't stand a chance). What they say is very relevant whether you choose to admit it or not. I also highly doubt there'll be much of a change over the matter of Iran. It hasn't changed over the last 10 years. The GOP has instead gone further to the right over the matter.

Right now, the Iran issue still belongs to Obama. (or Bush, depending on how far back you want to blame)

That's true, it is still Obama's issue until January 2017. Correct. Maybe he'll launch a random surprise attack on Iran. Whatever he does, it will be on him and congress if they come out in support. Just like the Iraq war in 2003.

I do admire someone who's not afraid to come out and say they're for Hillary.

I won't pretend to understand it, however.

I wish I wasn't only 5 the first time Reagan was running for office because I'll bet he had some things to say about military action and Iran, too, and my memory is good enough to remember that massive war we DIDN'T end up having.

Reagan favored diplomacy with Iran actually. He talked tough, but as the documents that have since come out have shown, he negotiated with Iran while still running for president (circumventing the federal government in the process) and ultimately paid them for releasing the hostages and not cooperating with the Carter administration.
