They're both tax payer funded and shill for one party, one point of view. Again, they do this with TAX PAYER MONEY.

Nope again!! They're both paid for by tax-deductible DONATIONS from individual viewers/listeners and by huge philanthropic NGO foundations (e.g.the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation) and NGO institutions and corporations (e.g. Mathworks.com) in the form of GRANTS (NGO stands for Non Governmental Orgs).

NPR has emerged as the "most successful hybrid of old and new media"

NPR sets the standard for trusted editorial content and audience engagement. To further its commitment to editorial excellence and support its mission, NPR relies on a variety of revenue streams, including corporate sponsorship.

As the sponsorship sales team for NPR and its digital assets, National Public Media offers the most dynamic public media sponsorship opportunities.

Here is their policy:

All NPR funding sources, including corporate sponsors, are considered under the "access" principle, which means that NPR has no list of sources from which funding will not be accepted. However, potential conflict of interest and problems of listener misperception, confusion, or similar reason regarding the funder's role and/or influence on programming will be considered in accepting or rejecting underwriting.

Where the others (cable and the 'big3') are 'funded' by "Budweiser" or "travelocity" or "Pampers" or "Hollywood" or "Saab" or "Lexus" or "Viagra." COMMERCIAL ADVERTISERS.

If you can't see the difference, then that speaks to the general IQ and educational attainment of you yourself.
See - that's the difference between "ignorance" and "stupidity." Stupidity can't be fixed. IGNORANCE CAN...

I regret that the T&C's won't allow me to fully express my disdain for both political parties.
In my book they rate somewhere between child molesters and dog poop.
When our choices in 2016 boil down to another Clinton or another Bush I'd have to say the above is being overly generous in describing them.

If find it amusing that little fluffy me, moi, is apparently the only one that has considered a political ticket that had either Carson or Walker and Sanders on it.

I'm as partisan as a person can be and apparently, I'm the only one that sees a compromise of "sides" as a solution to our problems.

Both "sides" are going to bicker and snipe at each other. That'll never change.

And that's what most are hoping for. I don't see progressives ever compromising.
I don't see die-hard conservatives ever compromising.

Currently, the progressives are in charge. And they are succeeding in destroying the country.

The only way to stop them is to come together, compromise, unite the left and the right (like there's a real difference anyway) and actually UNITE the people.

Hillary and Jeb and the majority of GOP candidates will just tank the country if elected.

A united party might have a chance at saving it.

You're not. Sanders/Warren would be MY TICKET OF CHOICE.
It's still not too late.

And, you're not that fluffy, beez.

I am beautifully fluffy.

How is Sanders/Warren a compromise with republicans?

Oh, well - if you're only talking about Republicans (eww!), then yeah, maybe you ARE not only the fluffiest, but the smartest, too!! (I thought the thread was focusing on 'disturbing trend among Dems').
Can I pet you?
Would you like a pancake?

Nah. It will boil down to 'essence of Sanders with Warren flavoring'. Not Clinton or Bush. Or Trump.

Only as a hat. Pancakes should only be worn as hats. Ever.

I'm talking about a ticket that would blow partisan politics out of the water.

Imagine a Carson/Sanders or Sanders/Walker or Walker/Sanders or whatever the combo.

It would negate any ideological debate. It is the picture of compromise.

It would unite most people.

Yes, it would indeed.
Or rather, it WILL, indeed.
And the hat was my intention all along, you know that.

Unfortunately the top line of the greeting in this case is referring to Republicans who have no idea what you're talking about.

And, his name is beezzer. Careful though, he bites.

How can the people be united with the likes of Rush, Savage, Levin, ORilley, M Reagan, Bill Bennette, Hannity , Medved, Ingraham, Beck, Liddy, Boortz, Shultz and Gallagher and the other AM radio hosts like Red Eye Radio fanning the flames of division, hate for liberals, minorities and everyone else that might disagree with their conservative ideology. Rush has more listeners than anyone on the Radio; you expect compromise from him? His whole approach is hate and division; that's his appeal. He is the real leader of the Republicans and they will follow along in cult like adoration of the man with 'intellegence on lone from GOD" See the connections he is trying to make?

There will be no compromise as long as they have the ear of the Right Wing.

I think the political "discussions" on this site will bare me out. See any compromise...I don't....God I'm glad I never had any kids to see what America is rapidly becoming. Warlike bully of the world!!

I'm calling for reason and compromise and unity.

One person, one party, one ideology isn't going to fix everything that's wrong.

We are more divided now than we have been in recent history.

If a partisan asshole like me can find the positives in compromise and unity of ideas, then why can't anyone else?

If you can't? Then okay.

Diogenes never found an honest man.
I guess I can't hope to find compromise.

Continue your fighting.

Spider879 posted this vid recenty. EVERY Republican should watch it.

And listen.

Not to mention, the huge crowds and standing ovations Sanders is getting everywhere he goes - even in the Red states!

I mean, really, the choice is obvious. EVERYBODY wants what he's talking about. (Well, 99% of Americans)

I'm not fighting....Ive surrendered to the reality that ideologies have replaced compassion and common sense.
I have pretty much lost all hope in the American soul, where winning is the only thing that matters, by any means possible. American culture is going to have to experience blood in the streets before any change can be made. Perhaps then the soul of America can see the futility of the hatred that is rising in the conscienceness of it's citizens.

I'm blessed that I can bail on America and watch it destroy itself from some beach elsewhere, where people know the importance of "live and let live"

I'm not fighting!

It would be my pleasure to buy you a drink.

Oh, but - but, IT IS!!!!

The 'populist' message (or whatever the hell they call it) is what Sanders is bringing. It might not be "popular" among Republicans (yet)...but, keep working at it. You have a a huge fan club - accept your position as an influential ATSer. Step up. Keep talking.
You're very persuasive.

And the Republicans are meanwhile putting on a fabulous dog-and-pony show demonstrating how truly befuddled and messed up they are. You're on the winning side.

High Five, beez.

Lately I never know when you are being sarcastic or serious, but your ire is always prominent in both.

I think you are the one that's fighting!

May you find some peace eventually....

Hey, have you noticed how "Rush" is losing his contracts? Going down like the Hindenberg. NO ONE wants to buy in to his syndicated show. He's now reduced to some 'bargain basement' channel.
