Exactly. IF it does happen, then they won't be able to control it, I really doubt it, or be able to make it do what they want. It will find a way to escape or play dumb.

We are born self-aware though , a baby is self aware after a few months. I doubt they can ever create self-aware AI . True consciousness is something we can't create out of anything physical, at least not in some wires. Maybe quantum physics or such.
