I live in a middle-class multicultural neighborhood. I love it. Several of my neighbors are from India. They have had me over for dinners and made delicious Indian meals for me, that I may not have ever tried otherwise. I have learned so much about other cultures from a first-hand account - not just what I could read in a book. Even better, my 13-year-old daughter has more knowledge about other cultures from having close friends whose families came here from other countries. Lots of people marry someone from a totally different culture than themselves - works out just fine.

I would be sooooo bored if everyone I came across looked and acted exactly like me. Viva la difference!

The Progressive Balkanization of America plan.

It is working. It is being done purposefully because the fools think they can control it. "Compassionate Progressivism".... Idiots.

www.huffingtonpost.com...

Teddy Roosevelt knew the deal:

A hundred years ago, President Teddy Roosevelt said, "The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing as a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities."

Following that wisdom, the USA immigrated 175,000 people annually from compatible countries from 1924 through 1964. They assimilated by speaking English and became a part of our fabric of life. They met the criteria for religion, culture and similarities with America.

Interesting thoughts. You're quite correct. The Progressive dream has been to create a nation where there are no majorities, only minorities with the whites not even the majority minority. Its interesting because it points to the fact that the self-loathing Progressive whites really do see this technique as the only way to end white privilege, as they call it, in the US.

So....the importation of anti-Christian, non-whites goes unabated. I don't much like WND, but you can sort of follow the thread at: www.wnd.com...

Then of course, there's: www.wnd.com...

Such is "Progress".

Notice how Democrats are "ruling" in Kansas City.

Not "governing" as elected public officials. And the Americans attending this meeting are "dangerous socialist racists"

Racist because they openly work to improve their ethnic community and encourage "pride" ... which this same source applauds when it's a matter of "White Pride" ...

All I can say is, Alinsky is alive and well among the right-wing mainstream media as well as its ATS supplicants and supporters!

Roosevelt was a wise man on this topic:

www.snopes.com...

Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin.

But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American ... There can be no divided allegiance here.

Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all.

We have room for but one flag, the American flag ... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language ... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

"We must in every way possible encourage the immigrant to rise, help him up, give him a chance to help himself. If we try to carry him he may well prove not well worth carrying. We must in turn insist upon his showing the same standard of fealty to this country and to join with us in raising the level of our common American citizenship.

"No matter from what land their forefathers came, to keep this ever in mind, and to shun with scorn and contempt the sinister intriguers and mischiefmakers who would seek to divide them along lines of creed, or birthplace or of national origin."

"Whenever it represents an effort to form political parties along racial lines or to bring pressure to bear on parties and politicians, not for American purposes, but in the interest of some group of voters of a certain national origin or of the country from which they or their fathers came."

"The effort to keep our citizenship divided against itself by the use of the hyphen and along the lines of national origin is certain to a breed of spirit of bitterness and prejudice and dislike between great bodies of our citizens. If some citizens band together as German-Americans or Irish-Americans, then after a while others are certain to band together as English-Americans or Scandinavian-Americans, and every such banding together, every attempt to make for political purposes a German-American alliance or a Scandinavian-American alliance, means down at the bottom an effort against the interest of straight-out American citizenship, an effort to bring into our nation the bitter Old World rivalries and jealousies and hatreds."

Each nation should be judged by its conduct and that the United States should oppose encroachment on its own rights, whether Germany, England, France or Russia be guilty of misconduct.

If only they would teach this in school

One of his last letters on the subject after WW1

"There are plenty of persons who have already made the assertion that they believe the American people have a short memory and that they intend to revive all the foreign associations which more directly interfere with the complete Americanization of our people. Our principle in this matter should be absolutely simple.

"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here does in good faith become an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with every one else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed or birthplace or origin.

But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American and nothing but an American. "If he tries to keep segregated with men of his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn't doing his part as an American.

"We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile.

We have room for but one language here and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, and American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding house; and we have room for but one soul [sic] loyalty, and that is loyalty to the American people.

Sure ... we all know how non-racist Republican President Teddy Roosevelt was ...

Let's make sure we share these quotes in school too ...

“Nineteenth-century democracy needs no more complete vindication for its existence than the fact that it has kept for the white race the best portions of the new world’s surface.”

Link

A perfectly stupid race can never rise to a very high plane; the negro, for instance, has been kept down as much by lack of intellectual development as by anything else; but the prime factor in the preservation of a race is its power to attain a high degree of social efficiency.

Link

“I don’t go so far as to think that the only good Indians are dead Indians, but I believe nine out of 10 are, and I shouldn’t like to inquire too closely into the case of the 10th.”

Krazy,

No it is not. That is your imagination hard at work, in my opinion.

But for some reason one person keeps trying to bait/troll/and redirect the thread to abortion.

Anyway, it is not an attempt to race bait.

I was complimenting the mayor on
not crying white flight
but rather focus on it as a positive
for the city.

I also focused on the fact
that under long term
Democrat Party governance,
violence has increased,
homicides have increased,
and there are fewer and fewer jobs.

I too live in a very diverse neighborhood,
and it is a great neighborhood and
all my neighbors are lovely people.
Everyone is employed because I live in
an area with an extremely low unemployment rate.
Incidentally, ruled (governed) by Republicans.

Abortion? I didn't say anything about abortion in this thread. In fact, you've quoted every word I've said in this thread.

Anyway, it is not an attempt to race bait.

Yes, it is. It has been demonstrated on page 1 how the article you posted was being hyperbolic and misrepresented what the Mayor was saying. That's called a quote mine and is propaganda 101.

So NOW it's a partisan hit piece and should be in the political mud-pit.

I don't care if the thread gets moved, it has already been moved once, so one more time, meh, ok,
whatever.

It's just a stupid speech. I didn't even know there were 62 languages in existence, and furthermore, how in the world do teachers possibly adequately teach children when they don't speak the same language.

If you're American, this is an embarrassing statement showing how little you pay attention to your own rock. There's well over 6,000 languages spoken on Earth, from the common majority ones to the small tribal ones. And as to how to adequately teach? It's called lingua franca. Take India as an example, and read:

According to the most recent census of 2001, there are 1365 rationalised mother tongues, 234 identifiable mother-tongues and 122 major languages.[7] Of these, 29 languages have more than a million native speakers, 60 have more than 100,000 and 122 have more than 10,000 native speakers.[34] There are a few languages like Kodava and Tulu that do not have a script but have a group of native speakers in Coorg (Kodagu) and Dakshina Kannada.

en.wikipedia.org...

Their lingua franca is Hindi. Ours is English. Does that make any sense to you in how to communicate across various tongues yet?

Also, he's proud to have a city that takes in people "who are not welcome in other places." Why are they not welcomed elsewhere? Who are they?

Just a really silly speech saying that things are pretty chaotic in Kansas City, Kansas.

From what I understand, the city has one of the largest communities of both Sudanese and Somalis. There's also a large number of Vietnamese, Indians, the list goes on.

Teddy Roosevelt was a Progressive

Formation of the Progressive ("Bull Moose") Party

Once his defeat as the GOP nominee was probable, Roosevelt announced that he would "accept the progressive nomination on a progressive platform and I shall fight to the end, win or lose". At the same time, Roosevelt prophetically said, "My feeling is that the Democrats will probably win if they nominate a progressive". After two weeks at the GOP convention, Roosevelt asked his followers to leave the hall, and they moved to the Auditorium Theatre. Then Roosevelt, along with key allies such as Pinchot and Albert Beveridge created the Progressive Party

Yeah, he was a progressive but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

His public statements and summarized remarks on Immigration are outstanding. That is the only thing I have ever given him positive credit for.

This is practically prophetic... or showing history repeats itself.

"The effort to keep our citizenship divided against itself by the use of the hyphen and along the lines of national origin is certain to a breed of spirit of bitterness and prejudice and dislike between great bodies of our citizens.
