The nuns have been informed that they don't HAVE to provide contraception. The OP is a lie. All they need to do is sign a waiver, but they refused.

I stumbled across some information about this subject this morning that sheds an entirely new light on this case.

Not only do the sisters NOT have to provide contraception coverage to their employees, even if they sign the exemption form, the insurance company they use (Christian Brothers) does not provide contraception to employees, because they operate under a "church plan", which is completely legal and exempted by the ACA.

So the premise of the OP is absolutely false. This is from the 10th circuit court's ruling in this case:

The court decision states that "it is clear Christian Brothers need not, and will not, provide contraceptive coverage if the Little Sisters opt out of the Mandate." The nuns are "seeking legal relief from a non-existent problem."

Well, yeah. You can have all the freedom of religion you want, just as long as your freedom of religion is in compliance with government regulations that define what freedom of religion is. Simple enough, really.

Its kind of like those free speech zones. You can have all of the free speech you want as long as you're in a government designated free speech area. Therefore, you're rights to free speech are being protected!
