A Florida lawmaker suggested that Donald Trump’s bombastic presidential campaign may be a Democratic plot to make the Republican Party look bad.

Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-Miami) posted a tweet last week in Spanish that echoed speculative comments he made to popular radio host Ahora Oscar Haza, reported the Miami Herald.

“There are too many important national, local international topics to waste time talking about a person who, I repeat, in my judgment is irrelevant — and who quite possibly is a phantom candidate recruited by the left to create this entire political circus,” Curbelo said.

I think all political parties do just fine making themselves look stupid with out bringing in the clowns, but The Donald does bring in a special fresh attitude. I personally don't think he is working for the DNC. And the GOP doesn't need Trump to point out the lack of depth in the Republican party. At least Trump is expanding the issue debate. Status quo just won't cut it in today's political climate.

I agree with you that no one needs help looking stupid. And I frankly like to hear Donald talk. He's funnier than hell! He's not a Democrat or working for them. He'd make a terrible joke of the presidency.

Or it might be a GOP plot to make the other GOP candidates appear sane, sensible and empathetic. Toss up.

You mean more than it is already?

Believe you me, Trump isn't making anyone look stupid! ALL the prior presidents and candidates make themselves look stupid...They didn't need any help to boot!

Nah the GOP 100% owns Trump whether they like it or not. Nothing like giving a voice to the deep rooted opinions that many Republicans never DARE utter when they side with certain issues.

I said the same thing about most of the GOP running in the last 3 Elections.

Mitt included, since he has all the charisma of a fist.

I like Trump. He's a showman. And he backs it up with his emotional speeches. Sad, but Jed Bush has already been groomed for the next US president. Hilliary does NOT connect with the US Military at all. That's her clear political downfall.

Trump will run as independent, split the Republican vote and allow Clinton to take the presidency. My prediction.

Maybe some good will come of Trump's circus after all. Apparently there was some inadvertent truthiness on Fux News.

“It’s not a quick high when people are getting murdered in San Francisco,” said Watters, referring to alleged murder of Kate Steinle at the hands of convicted felon and five-times deported Mexican national Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez. He also commented on what he perceived as Mexico’s inability to keep drug cartel members from escaping incarceration and “selling heroin and coc aine to our children.”

Rivera responded, “It is the cheapest shot of all to exploit the misery of [the Steinle] family… it has nothing to do with immigration.”

“You’re exploiting it by downplaying [the murder],” said Watters.

When Rivera argued that Trump’s comments were “exploiting” and “sensationalizing” the immigration issue, Fox News host Eric Bolling said to Rivera accusingly, “From a guy who exploits and sensationalizes everything, really?”

“Are you talking to me?” replied Geraldo Rivera. “You’re lucky that you’re my friend; I’d knock you out right now. That’s absolute BS.”

“We can take this up later,” said Bolling.

“That is absolute bogus BS. You’re telling me I exploit and sensationalize? What do you do? Where do you get your stuff from? What right-wing pundit is giving you your script?” shouted Rivera.

Geraldo is way way off script. LOL.

The best thing about Trump is he is using his own money to run, so he doesn't have to watch what he says.

Also he is just going to make the rest change the whole way they campaign, as he will call everyone out...guaranteed.

As for being owned...Not a chance.

Pretty sure Hillary is going to have to fight with Bernie for the nomination at this point.

He's pulling in 30k an event and thats a hell of a lot in pre-primary season.

If the media covered him at all I would say it's probably in his hands already, but I guess we'll see in the debates.

Even if Sanders doesn't get the nomination; he is bringing a new perspective to the American political scene; One that
the GOP wants to avoid at all costs.

Like my son said about the possibility that Rob Ford might have been re-elected..."It might not be good - but it'd be interesting."

If I'd been in Vegas, I'd have a $100 down on that Trump runs on a Feminist agenda before this is over.................

That...actually....almost makes him more credible.
No REAL person's political views stay the same throughout their entire life.

AND he's using his own money!?!

Whaaaa!?!

If he is a plant to make them look stupid then what about the others?

I think it would be much easier to list those candidates that haven't made their party look foolish.

It would be a very short list.

If there was a stupid contest between Ted Cruz and the Donald, Trump would look like a member of Mensa.
