I took notice about 2 weeks ago with the GE 747 test bed ( engine ) on flightradar24. It was circling over Edward Air force Base. And for hours.. needless to say the fact it went right over Edwards got my attention. Nice to put the bird at a home location. Thanks.

Nah, they were pretty cool about it. Just came out and talked to us, told us on one side of the road we were on base property, but we were cool on the other side of the road. Just asked if we took any, and if we'd go ahead and delete them, and watched while we did.

Did they take any personal details or capture any info about you?
For all they know you might have been using a camera with a data connection and all pics were instantly backed up/posted to your instagram as you took them....

Nice F-101 catch, not to many of those anymore.

Come to EAA Air Venture in Oshkosh, WI at the end of this month. I've been going for years and I believe two F-35s will be performing. If you like airplanes I believe this is one of the best shows in the world.

That sucks that you lost pictures. Did they confiscate your camera/film? If it were me, I probably would have been hemmed up by security at my first stop, knowing my luck lol.

It's Double Eagle Airport and it has 2 runways. One is 7400 feet long and the other is 6000 feet. The identifier is KAEG. It is owned by the city and the airport manager is Mike Medley. 120 aircraft are based there and it averages over 210 operations a day. The FBO is Bode Aviation.

Nope. I live about 13 miles away from Double Eagle, and am quite familiar with it. The airstrip I'm wondering about is about 8 miles West of Double Eagle and about 2 and a half miles North of Hard Rock Casino, in the Rio Puerco.

The aeronautical charts show nothing there. The George J. Maloof Memorial Air Park might be what you are seeing. It's an rc model flying field owned by the city.

Yeah it is. I've never been but we had a chance to tour Icon aircraft production facility this trip too but they had to cancel because they were getting ready for Oshkosh.

Don't feel too bad about not knowing all things aviation.
I worked for 26 years at Lockheed Martin and eight years in Naval Aircrew, but I don't know a lot of the things
the real serious airdales know. Ten of those LM years were spent in Flight Test.

Recuva is another one that works pretty well.

for the pics of the shelters there's def some thing in shelter 1 and 3. and in shelter 3 a guy either grabbing the wing from underneath or waving at you.

hey what are the two black/dark grey aircraft sitting together in the photo directly above the shelter photos? I cant see clearly through the heat mirage enough to tell.

Those are all Predator/Reapers out at Creech. Two in the shelters, and several outside near the building.
