Anyone else super excited for this game? It's been described as "the spiritual successesor" to Dark Age of Camelot, which was in my opinion, one of the greatest mmo's of all time.

I can't wait for some more tri-realm RvR battles. I'm hoping that it's like original DAoC in the sense that it was mostly all about the PvP. I don't mind it being moderately challenging to get to max level and I dont mind doing some questing, exploring and moderately challenging encounters for end game equipment but what I don't want is a game that requires 100's of hours of raiding for gear.

PvE raiding gets boring and repetitive and for people like me who work full time and have a family, hardcore raiding just isn't feasable. Camelot Unchained should deliver just what I'm looking for, a game I can log in whenever I can find the time and participate in some exciting fights!

I'm also looking forward to seeing how crafting fits into the mix. I always enjoy crafting in mmo's and in DAoC especially because crafted armor was actually useful in filling in the gaps in gear templates, I'm hoping it will be the same in CU.

Anyway, can't wait for it myself!

I stopped playing DaOC when WoW came out.

This is the first I have heard of it.

the Stun and Mez crowd control was out of hand. Will not play if they are doing this again.

To be fair DAoC did have ways of breaking out of CC effects as well as CC immunity timers. I didn't think it was out of hand, plus it wasn't like only one realm had access to stuns and mezzes.

Here's a statement by mark Jacobs on the matter quoted from the interview linked below.

"I believe that CC will have a significant role to play in an RvR-focused game such as this one. Balancing it is, as we all know, quite difficult to do. Other than this, no comment yet."

Well, that closes that possibility.

Nothing worse than standing there immobilized while an opposing group kills you one at a time. This was the dumbest part of the game and the most frustrating other than having to chain kill fins to reach max level.

guess so, stick with Mechwarrior online until something good comes out.

Easy mode, you mean hitting an insta stun or insta mez button.. LOL

That was pathetic.

Mythic (or whatever they are now) seems to have a fascination with CC as much as Blizzard has a fascination with an invisible rouge type insta gank characters.

How nice. If someone doesn't like being perma-mezzed, they play on "easy" mode?

How hard is it to chain stun someone and then walk up and beat the snot out of them?

But it's comments like yours that are mainly why I tend to avoid heavy PvP games. People like you are no fun to compete against.

If it was so easy mode and pathetic, why were you always on the losing end of it?

Shouldn't you have been able to get some kills in using it to your advantage?

I'm not trying to be a dick here but I don't get why you're hating so much. Obviously losing in DAoC must've had a very negative impact on you.

Enjoy mech warrior where I'm assuming it's a lot safer and easier.

LOL.

So true.

I am actually shocked that they would put that function in since it was the reason most people I knew (pretty much our whole guild on Merlin) quit.

Oh great I get all the butthurt bad PvPers responding here. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about or you'd know that you couldn't chain stun in DAoC due to immunity timers.

Ok we get it. You lost a lot and got mad and quit. Doesn't mean it was a bad game because you couldn't win. It's not like you didn't have access to the same abilities.

Even mark Jacobs acknowledges that these games are niches games for certain players. They aren't trying to be a wow killer. For people who get butthurt about losing, there will always be games like wow for you.

Anyway, I still can't wait for Camelot unchained.

LOL, I think we have one of the Devs or Mythic staff.... funny.

Go self promote somewhere where someone won't disagree with you. Appears that is the goal?

I quit WoW when they increased levels and invalidated all my crap I had spent a year gathering. I am not working to be top tier over and over again just to be zero'ed out again.

But anyway, best of luck.

No insult intended. Well, I guess I shouldn't mention Warhammer Online... God Awful.

You're an idiot. You're accusing me of the same thing you yourself are doing, which is getting pissy because someone doesn't agree with you. Take a hike dude. Thanks for detailing my thread.
