Michael Jordan: Brands That Kills?

Before I talk about Michael Jordan and his shoes I would like to give you scripture reference first since it will relate to what I will say about them.

2 Timothy 3:2

For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.

1 Timothy 6:10

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

OK now we have that out of the way lets continue to the main topic at hand.

MICHAEL JORDAN TENNIS SHOES

It is important that you know that these shoes are probably the Devil's favorite shoes ever put out on the market. But why you may ask?

Well simply because this shoe causes the most violence and mayhem out of any other shoe on the market.

People have gotten killed and robbed over these shoes and even trampled and placed in a hospital over trying to purchase the shoes at the store.

The point I am making is that people go through great lengths to have something that cares NOTHING ABOUT YOU.

Yes you read that correctly. Michael Jordan TENNIS SHOES cares NOTHING ABOUT YOU.

But you seem to care A WHOLE LOT ABOUT IT.

Matter of Fact MICHAEL JORDAN HIMSELF PROBABLY CARES NOTHING ABOUT YOU but YOUR MONEY OF COURSE. Since your just a measly fan or peasant I should say.

Let alone only a few of you know HOW to PRODUCE your OWN MICHAEL JORDAN TENNIS SHOES. Meaning if someone else doesn't produce this shoe for you...you will never have it at all.

So once again why kill or rob or trample someone over something that does not LOVE YOU or even REMOTELY CARES ABOUT YOU or something you CANT EVEN PRODUCE FOR YOURSELF?

Another big problem with KILLING or ROBBING someone over man made products is that you rather show LOVE to a PRODUCT than a actual PERSON. Your intentions are not to kill or rob the PRODUCT but to kill or rob a PERSON for a particular product. How sick is that?

Imagine if you killed everybody for the products they have. Now your stuck in a world filled with PRODUCTS but with no one to tell you how nice it is because you killed everybody. How wonderful is that? Now Lets see how much love this product is going to give you after it reaches its expiration date or if its something like an IPhone it may drop and break the same day you killed or stole it from somebody. How great is that?

Way back in the 80s when my children were young there was a McDonald's slogan with people singing and stuff and the slogan was short and sweet. You probably remember it.
" At McDonald's,,,we do it alllllll, for youuuuuu..."

What a total crock. When I would hear my kids begin to sing that commercial, as all commercials are intent on having us do, especially children, I would tell them" McDonald's doesn't do anything for you at all,,,,they do it all for themselves.
At that point I set up a rule in our house that encouraged singing whatever kind of music they were inclined to sing except for one cardinal rule. "THOU SHALL NOT SING COMMERCIALS"

Actually this whole idea of celebrity culture is mind numbingly mad. These celebs who endorse anything and everything. Actors who push soap and singers who have a perfume line. By my stuff cuz you already love me, spend tons of money on my movies and my songs and my videos, now spend more on more crap because you love me and want to be my friend. You know, buy my stuff and I will be your friend too. We can be buddies and hang out and wear the same clothes and blah blah blah.
Now, BBO, you are free to blame it all on the devil if you wish, just know that there are those of us out here who understand the chains of control used by Madison Avenue without putting it all on the devil. Even without the devil in the equation it is sickening.

You probably had a good point. I couldn't get passed the scripture. A shame This topic has so much potential, such as the issues with modern slavery and the role of advertising in influencing a culture as a means of well disguised oppression. Oh well.

I don't understand this topic will always have potential you disagreeing or disapproving the scriptures is your own ignorance. The topic that Michael Jordan shoes kill people is a fact and not a false reality. Regardless of scriptures.

If you dont wish to blame the Devil you do not have to because many many people can't be pointed at instead. There's no need to put all the blame on the Devil I will agree to this but we must talk about the origination of such evil which is the Devil.

I was hoping that there would be some good conversation concerning the machinations of Madison Avenue and the horrendous celebrity culture that is driving the pop scene that is raising our children to be morons. Telling someone you feel sad for their mother is not name calling I'm afraid. It's more so to say your Mother had a hard time educating you or maybe even your prior teachers perhaps. And there is no reason why we cant talk about the celebrity culture that is driving our kids mad but I would prefer to discuss that on another thread.

OP, you killed your own thread. Perhaps be a little more civil to the people who would like to discuss the topic with out limiting the direction the thread can take. You are putting putting people off. According your register date you just joined today although your username could be interpreted otherwise.

I am going to give you the benefit of the doubt. My advice would be to redo your thread approaching it slightly different. Your intro loses people right off the bat. If you want to bring religion into it, fine, but I wouldn't blast people with verses from the get go. Make it an aspect too explore, not the main point, which should be what you stated in your title and the second half of your OP.

Be polite to people who disagree with you, the further the debate and spark more conversation regarding the topic.

I fully agree with that sentiment, I don't however agree that the supernatural entity of the christian belief is behind it.

I'm pretty sure Jeezy would sport some Jordans on the court......those sandles just wouldn't cut it.
