Why is China launching a cyber attack against St. Louis?

My first thought is that Boeing Space, Defense, and Security is headquartered in St. Louis.

Any other thoughts/explanations?

That's pretty calm actually as far as NORSE goes.

I don't see any evidence of an 'attack'.

Oddly enough I have noticed that I cannot get Google or Bing to complete an image search at all.

They don't have the huge network that Norse does, only seeing about 1/5th of the real time reporting they do.

It's VERY active right now. To Saint Louis, which is usually Credit Card Processing.

China Cyber Attack

So we decided to look at a real-time cyber attack map courtesy of Norsecorp which provides real time visibility into global cyber attacks.

What clearly stands out is that for some reason Chinese DDOS attacks/hackers seem to be focusing on St. Louis this morning.

ok wow yeah St Louis is getting hit constantly.
a lot of the south east Nashville etc too

I don't know maybe it is Boeing related since Seattle
is in second behind St Louis for being attacked ?
Or credit cards ?

There was just a massive offensive that appeared to originate from Turkey towards the U.S.

I can't get into too many details, but I have family very much in the know that have elevated my concern level quite significantly about what has been going on today.

I think folks should start looking at their personal situations i.e. banking and investments and start making some moves to hedge what they have. Also - it can not hurt to prepare some things like food / water / supplies to last you for a while in the event that things do get really bad with the economy...

I'm more referring to the financial sector / global economics than the general cyber activity having elevated my concerns. I'm not a big doom porn person either, but medium term I think we have some serious issues ahead of us.

I seen 600+ attacks on the Norse map towards the U.S. - anyone know what's average?
