It is not their pay, it is in their pension funds.

I know about the pension funds (same kind of theft is occurring here in Europe), but I was referring to the "US individuals", not the pension fund part.

Wowsers, didn't realise the UK held 1% of US debt. As a long time ally and partner, i propose we let you off that in exchange for say California (on a 2 week every summer time share basis rather than permanently). Deal?

As a Texan I say
Deal !

I'v been following for some time, and it started .... A commenter on MSN posted this, I think it might sum it up....

"The losses in Shanghai and Shenzen earlier today are the reason the NYSE trading was halted. Over 1300 companies trading on those exchanges voluntarily halted trading of their shares. Now it is spilling over to the US. The NYSE is afraid of a total meltdown!"

I went down to my ATM and procured a sum incase the Banks and ATM's shut down as they did in Greece. I'm just saying, it might be prudent to have cash, when typically I only use plastic.

Unfounded doom porn. The Dow was only down 200 points when the market halted trading so there was no contamination from the overseas trading. Additionally, they Dow has built in triggers that will halt trading if things start to go south too quickly but they were not even close to tripping them.

That's a few times now I've heard of u.s debt being sold.

This all seems to be part of a well executed plan, a new American century after all?

Oh for crying out loud. NOT EVERYTHING IS AMERICA'S PLAN OR FAULT. Talk about being intellectually lazy!

...they could cook the books and hide the nature of their debt.

They have been cooking the books for decades, the double digit growth has a lot of smoke and mirrors fudged into it.

Source ?

Anyways, EVERYONE is cooking the books, smoke and mirrors.

And all for what reason I wonder.....it is never good, and never human.

Wow, this is getting super nutty on here:

map.norsecorp.com...

You see cease fires briefly, then 50 ICBM's lobbed from China or Europe at the US, then all hell breaks loose again. Seems 3x the rate what it was a couple hours ago.

Exactly, BUILT IN BOOK COOKING, it does not matter how much you protest and squeak, you are going DOWN, and that is not doom porn, but a reality that has been in the making since before the Masons were even formed.

Globally attacks happen nonstop, but some of the activity I've seen today has topped what was supposedly high activity some months ago. I watched for about a week then.

This is what I keep witnessing. A few second cease fire, then a botnet out of China activates and sets it all off again:

The automatic shutdown triggers are to prevent manipulation by stopping much of the programmed trading that removes the human element.

So in a day of market manipulation that would make even Adolf Hitler blush we refuse to process the Chinese sell orders to cover their margin losses back home as a result their banks dont get paid and a few Chinese banks collapse IF HSBC goes it will take the world with it,speculation, but as we have seen in China the more you interfere the worse it gets.

The human element is the one ultimately in charge (or should be) so if the human element decides by its brand of knowledge and logic that it is best to play it safe and have a "glitch" appear, than so be it.

I'm saying that no one was asleep at the wheel on this China problem and the subsequent shut down here. Who wouldn't have wanted it? Quarantine isn't a bad word.

Some folks don't care to acknowledge that things are controlled more than they are made to appear to be as that would throw doubt on the way the system supposedly works.

Except the 'China thing' was having very little impact, the market was not down significantly percentage-wise and there was no fear of collapse when this occurred.

Pretty sure the ticker starts again in about 10 mins. I'll edit this post with what it's opening at.

Well I'm either off by an hour, or it's just not happening today?!

9:30 – 11:30 continuous auctionAfternoon session
13:00 – 15:00 continuous auction

I guess indexq.org etc dont reflect it immediately.

Bloomberg appears to have them opening lower

SHCOMP:IND

Good call, that weirded me out.

A tic up at the moment... good, that every day lower and lower thing was kinda getting to me. Would be nice for the Chinese to not lose all confidence anytime soon.

Those long term strategists, Chinese we all hear about... totally playing a short term move, to the detriment of the mid-term, all the while for the glorious long-run... wait, maybe... not... I dunno, LOL
