So it seems Ukraine is tired of the lies and propaganda coming from and being reported by Russian media, and have taken steps to end the problem by removing Channel One reporter from Ukraine for three years.

Kiev (AFP) - A new public relations war raged Thursday between Moscow and Kiev after Ukraine deported a reporter with Russia's Channel One television for allegedly running "destructive" stories about the crisis-torn ex-Soviet state.

news.yahoo.com...

Now here is a part of the story that made me laugh...

"The current Ukrainian authorities will never understand that you cannot conceal the truth by intimidating and killing reporters," committee spokesman Vladimir Markin said in a statement.

So now Russia is telling Ukraine that they can't conceal the truth by intimidating and killing reporters...the hypocrisy in that statement alone is mind boggling.

Looks like Russia should follow their own advice when it comes to concealing the truth and killing of journalists inside their own borders.

56 Journalists Killed in Russia since 1992/Motive Confirmed

cpj.org...

Guess that advice doesn't include Russian media when it comes to the truth.

Putin's mentality is immersed in the ways of the old Soviet Union. I believe he has a wish of bringing back the old guard. Hopefully the Russian people open their eyes and see this. If he gets his way, Russians will again be standing in long food lines and the KGB will be arresting its own citizens.

I give it three minutes before the Putinistas congregate here in force to decry the "Totalitarian Ukraine Junta" and it's "Blatant Silencing of the Free Press"

Maybe two.

I have been waiting, but the truth is hard to deny.

As long as the Kremlin runs the media...I wouldn't count on it.

Yes, I am sure Gary Webb said the same thing. I'm not a Putin supporter, I just like to point out that the US is going to have a hard time being the world police when it's actions are hypocritical compared to what it says.

I'm still waiting to see if Saddam has those weapons of mass destruction or if Assad is using chemical weapons against his own people (just those two as examples in which the US lied, in order to propagate a conflict, same thing Russia is doing).

But c'mon, we know how Russia do.

Interestingly enough this has zero to do with the US, so why is it your bringing them into it?

A wise move by them.
No other country would allow that either, including Russia, even without the curent conflict.
And it really is laughable to see any Russian whining about "freedom of the press", considering Russia is on lockdown 24/7 and no journalist can criticize their own government without risking execution in the street.

I was watching a report about the resurgence of the Orthodox Church in Russia just last night, apparently they have been given permission to start construction on more than 100 Orthodox churches across Moscow, and they already have their fascist thugs out in several places threatening the local population who don't want those churches being built on their public spaces.

One look at that piece and the supposed "Orthodox" followers shows what's happening in Russia. While it claims Kiev is "fascist" it is actually the nation becoming fascist, with an Orthodox mob playing the role of the Brown Shirts.

Oops, never mind, there's the third one.

So...what's new on BBC?

Hope mods will react to the post above mine, I'm not sure how's it allowed to talk about a religion in that way? But then again, as long as i'ts anti-Russian everything is allowed.

It's what they always do, they'll go back all the way to the Crusades if they have to, anything to claim that Russia is okay to do what it does because another country did something else a thousand years ago.

In reality I get the point about hypocrisy, but that changes nothing. I don't care much what a country did before, that should never be used as an excuse to ignore the actions of another. It's like claiming it's okay to murder someone because they punched someone once.

Haha Doubtful, western money & influence both to right-wing groups & various politicians have been flooding the Ukraine, so it probably does have something to do with the U.S.

This is the same country that will jail whistleblowers as terrorists, as well as journalists. You try filming any serious rally in the U.S. that has a police presence and you'll find they don't like journalists.

Now let's keep it on topic...Russia fuming over journalist being expelled by Ukraine.

It's simple, Kiev can't have truths being revealed to the world, like how they bomb their own citizens, that is of course if you aren't drafted against your will.

Funny, because it seems your posts are still allowed.

Now how many threads are you going to try and derail before actually discussing the topic of those threads?

Ahhh the old "These people are colluding together to make and defend these threads!" argument.

We're all shills if we're pro-west! Oh no!

It couldn't POSSIBLY be that people who are on at the same time, happen to share similar views. Nope. Collusion.

I've never even PM'd any of these pro-west posters, much less coordinated with them. And if that's your only argument against this thread, it's a weak one.

On the topic of your "religion-bashing". Have you actually READ any of the threads outside of the ones with Russia as a topic? People bash Christianity almost non-stop. Islam almost non-stop. You pick a religion, it's been lambasted here on ATS. Take some time to read and contribute to other threads aside from Russian ones and you'd see that.

Let's clear the fog.

Russian journalist was expelled because

Ukraine's State Security Service (SBU) said it had expelled Alexandra Cherepnina for basing one of her stories on a home video in which a Ukrainian child was shown performing a Nazi salute and wielding a knife while calling for the murder of Russians.

You want to see that video ?
youtu.be... what was aired in Russia
youtu.be... original

A little kid was taught to "slaughter Russians" and saying "Zig Heil".
Ukraine deporting Russian Journalist. And You saying it is Russian hypocrisy.

I say it is You hypocrite for not seeing the obvious.

So because the Ukraine is tired of the lies Russian media has been telling the Russian people, and remove a part of those lies this is somehow related to the US...Last time I checked Ukraine has the right to remove whom they want and for whatever reason they want and nobody has the right to tell them they can't do it. That includes Russia, the EU, the US, or any other country for that matter.

This is the same country that will jail whistleblowers as terrorists, as well as journalists. You try filming any serious rally in the U.S. that has a police presence and you'll find they don't like journalists.

You do understand you just described Russia to a tee.

But here you go how do you explain these...

And this is one that should make you happy...

Unlike the truths that Russian media tells their citizens, and they think the world actually believes it.

So are they bombing any other areas that have civilians in them without the presence of the separatists?

And are the separatists not doing the same thing to those in Mariupol...as they are all Ukrainian?

Well i apologize if I'm mistaken, but you people have almost identical lines that you use, so forgive me for thinking it was all well rehearsed.

I don't mind if anyone's bashing on a religion, it's their personal choice, but i believe his post is waay outta line. I mean, there's gotta be a limit to everything, don't you think? Did he, or did he not compare Orthodox religion to a fascists group? Don't you think that's crossing a line?

And just so you know, i read a lot of ATS threads that has got nothing to do with politics, but that's all i do, i just read them. Because I don't have much to offer, unlike to this subject, because I can talk from my personal experience and the knowledge that i have.

You guys didn't answer me. What else is new on MSM? Any new Putin missing gossip? Or something even better?

The hypocrisy was in what they said...

Prove to me that this isn't hypocrisy at it's finest considering what they have done with those trying to report the truth.

Also in case you forgot they are the same media outlet that brought us this...

As far as your video...

So are these Nazi's also because what they are saying is exactly what the kid in your video is saying...it is clear as to what she says and Zig Heil is not it.
