Any body playing this game? Most of the reviews I read were pretty much positive with one negative review from Gamespot saying it was more of the same so i was a bit dubious about shelling out for it but i've got say i'm glad i did.

Graphics are outstanding, storyline is thoroughly immersive with plenty of twists and the combat, man the combat is sweet. Swooped in on about 20 thugs and proceeded to batter them with their own weapons, my fists and surrounding environment. Sound effects and music are excellent. Playing with Sennheiser HD 380 pro headphones which just adds to the immersion. Highly recommend this to fellow gamers out there.

Bravo Rocksteady Studios, hopefully they'll work on a Superman game and give the Man of Steel a title he deserves which judging by the Superman easter eggs kicking about Gotham City could be a wink to that happening.

I was going to get it on steam but they pulled it because of the amount of refunds requested (Steam get paid no matter what lol).
Apparently unplayable even on ninja powerful pc's.
Gonna take an age to sort it out so not yet!

Yeah I read about that. That's what happens with ports though, Rocksteady outsourced it to another developer instead of doing what Rockstar Games did for GTA V, you can check it out here. It's a shame, hopefully they'll get it sorted for you

I pre-ordered it on steam and have been enjoying but its a buggy mess in places. I've got a pretty powerful rig but it runs like crap in places, especially when using the batmobile, fps drops down to 15 sometimes and it stutters all over the place.

As it currently stands people are suffering from graphical glitches, memory leakages and constant crashes, I've been fairly lucky and only really have a problem with the fps drops and noticed a few textures missing here and there.

Rocksteady are starting to release small patches for those who are currently playing it to try and get it into a more stable state but I wouldn't bet on the game being re-released for at least a couple of months yet, there's a ton of work to do on it to get it into line, pretty much rebuilding the entire thing from the ground up.

I know on the PS4 there was a day one patch clocking in at 3.5GB addressing, gameplay, graphical, audio, UI etc. Also added skins, additional content and stability fixes.

I held off playing until it was done, didn't want to spoil the experience. I'll be getting a monster rig at some point, some games just beg to played with Ultra settings in mind.

Sadly as it stands there's no ultra settings available on the pc version, just low and normal. It looks okay graphically, just like Arkham Origins, but nothing like a next gen title should look. The ps4 version looks far superior at the moment which is kinda disappointing when I spent a ton of money on a beastly rig.

An announcement was made on steam last night saying they are currently working on adding more graphic options to the game, there's not really a lot in there at the moment and most of the stuff in there like the interactive fog and rain doesn't even work anyway.

What kinda rig you looking at building?

I don't know why release it in that state.
It just puts people off from buying it again after they have gotten a refund.
Yeah we would moan about it being delayed but look at GTA V yes very late but perfect when released.
I want a stable game more than I want it now.

At the time they were ready to release steam had no refund policy, you lost your money and it was tough luck. Thats why games like Mortal Kombat X and Assassins Cred Unity got away with releasing sub par products that people had to wait to be patched.

Now the refund policy is in place they HAVE to do something about it, their losing a fortune. Hopefully now other developers will take note and this kind of thing will never happen again.

Yeah steam are clever though they still get their cut so lol.
Ah Gabe
.
I agree it will make game makers release a better product.
Who would have though it eh? steam to the rescue lol.

Yeah I only just recently found out about that, not sure what percentage they take but they must be making a small fortune while rocksteady loses money hand over foot. Its their own fault though, they shouldn't have trusted s small time developer with very little experience to handle one of this years biggest releases, was commercial suicide from beginning.

I thought about refunding but to be honest I picked up about two dozen games during the summer sale I haven't even touched yet so will go through them while they fix Batman up

They get the same amount as If it was not refunded.
WB have lost a lot of money, thats why they pulled it because the refunds would continue If left up lol.

To be honest i'm a PC gaming virgin so i'm not really clued up on what type of rigs are available. A friend of mine is heavy into PC gaming so i'll be looking to her for guidance, i'll be building one for sure instead of buying pre-built with (when i've saved enough) about £1000ish.

GTA V looks amazing on PC, 60fps, higher detail. PS4 version still looks awesome. I remember seeing the PC gameplay and feeling the same awe as when i first played the next gen version compared to last gen. Truly a masterpiece.

Gabe will sat on a tropical beach soaking up the rays and sipping a beer while rocksteady are running around furiously panicking about getting a working (and profitable) game outta the door asap. Probably too little too late now though.

Yeah even on the lowest setting (normal they call it
) it is amazing I have not had a single problem in over 200 hours of gameplay.
Oh and yeah a grand will get you a decent rig.

I'd be tempted to spend that little bit more and get a really good graphics card, will benefit you in the long run. The 970's are a reasonable price and are really good for the money. A 980 would be even better and will see you right for the foreseeable future but the price is a lot higher

Shame they outsourced the PC port to a 12 man team , I game on PC so haven't played it and doubt I will even when it's fixed due to Rocksteady flipping PC gamers the digital finger.

Looks good if you have a PS4 or Xbone though but I have read other reviews that complain about the forced Batmobile sections.

edit on 28-6-2015 by gortex because: Batmobile is one word.

Yeah it does feel kinda forced in places and turning into a tank and blowing up other tanks doesn't feel very 'Batman like' sometimes. The car does add a new dynamic to puzzle solving though, theres a bucket load of them annoying little Riddler trophies that require the car to obtain although I generally don't bother with them

Some graphics cards cost more than a whole console don't they? I agree though, you're paying for excellence. One day i will join you among the ranks of PC elitism
I'll still keep the PS4 for console exclusives when i do eventually get one.

a reply to: boymonkey74

Can i transfer my GTA V character to PC the same as i did for last gen to current?

a reply to: gortex

I also read about the forced Batmobile sections, some of it is unnecassary but when you get the hang of it it's quite fun. Nothing like launching from it like a bullet taking down enemies.

Its crazy how much some of the stuff costs, my card was £500 and I'm upgrading to a 980ti Hybrid which is £600+. I do love my gaming so its worth the money to me, depends how much you want to invest into it. The problem I found was while I was building it something new came out and wanted me to just go that extra mile time and time again to keep up which sadly you can never do. At £1000 rig you will be getting far better performance than a console as long as you stick a good gpu into it.

I'll probably save more. When it comes to stuff like this it's worth it. Hopefully before Star Wars Battlefront is out.
