Hey guys! I haven't posted in a few years but I've been happily reading along with all of you. Hope you're well.

I post today because about a half hour ago, roughly 8-8:15pm EST, a hammerhead plane flew over my house. It was very low, maybe 5k feet up. I quickly Googled "hammerhead plane" and I was brought to this:

www.popsci.com...

The photo on that page is exactly what went over my house, with the reverse prop engines, front lip, everything. It sounded like a leaf blower or vacuum cleaner in the distance, and grew louder as it approached. My father even made note of the strange noise but didn't see it with me.

For location specifics if anyone is interested, I'm in East Longmeadow, Mass.
Roughly 10 miles from Westover ARB in Chicopee, 20 miles or so from Barnes base in Westfield, and a 30 minute drive to Bradley Intl Airport in Hartford.

What's the details on this one? That story I linked says this thing debuted 3 months ago in France.

That's not the P.1HH. There's only one of those right now and it's testing in Italy. It was the Piaggio P.180 Avanti that it's based on, which is manned and fairly popular among those that can afford them.

Yep. Just Googled that. Spot on. Delete away, if you want.

Thanks!

The P1HH looks pretty badass...but i been meaning to ask...

The P.1HH HammerHead UAS Mission Management System is based on Selex ES skyISTAR® innovative technology, which redefines the concept of patrolling and ISR missions, to encompass threats that range from terrorist attacks to illegal immigration, as well as protection of Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ), infrastructures and critical sites.

The on board airborne Mission Management System (MMS) manages sensors, video and data, communications, and ISR functions and it is capable of recording video and mission data.

Am i to take it then that EEZ's are Corporations and Rich follks under Drone security protection?

Piaggio

No, the EEZ is the 200 mile limit around countries. That is the exclusive territory of the "owning" country to develop resources, including fishing and drilling.

Unless you are in Asia. Then it's wherever China tells you it is
