Ooooh Gurl!

I personally have no respect for them.. they say some very hateful things and have very closed mind, the way they talk about people like they are nothing is disturbing and disgusting and they seem to want to destroy the entire GLBTQ+ community

You have no idea what 'progressives' have in store for all of us. What do you think about Seattle middle schools inserting IUDs (would break the hymen) and a mix of birth control hormone skin implant capsules to 11 year girls (these are clinical procedures); without the parent knowing? I can do without the Ooooh Gurl as that is insulting (PC violation).

It is not my nature to be in agreement or disagreement with anyone as everyone has that right to express an opinion that I usually ignore.

To not speak against injustice is to support it. It is an injustice to not speak against the injustice that keeps people from being treated justly (fairly/equally).

I don't identify with their policies or agenda is all. Its their problem to defend, not with me as I understand that if I gave them power through my decent I would be giving them energy. I do not want to fuel that base power. Energy is energy and it transfers as a thought form from being to beingness. I am not playing the human game.

This world is stacked against the human success story. Where does one even begin as far as injustices existing or in the past horrific spectacles; entire civilizations destroying each other. Gay rights SURE YES why not; this world needs Love to be shared and nurtured. I would like the Maya, Aztec, Toltec, Native American (slaughtered by the United States Government) all civilizations to be returned to mankind NOW to observe them AS THEY SHOULD EXISST as modern day evolutions. Lets get into genocide; World War II (occupied Europe by the NAZIS), Russia, Cambodia, Burma, for starters.

Supreme Court extends same-sex marriage nationwide!

Hot damn maybe now there won't be so many threads on ATS saying how the 'right' hates gays!

Prolly not.

Awesome about time LGBTS get to take the house, car, kitchen sink, and half of their spouses earthly posessions.

One could say it is a potential money pit for divorce lawyers to eventually dissolve these new unions; heterosexual divorce rates are at 50 percent. Gay/Lesbian marriages dissolving; probably a zero divorce rate (they actually love each other).

Not yet because there are many many more steps needed, and they have been discussed here, mainly the GLBTQ+ Federal Protected Class.

I love it when people profess their allegiance to the Constitution, but then have a problem with the equal protection clause.

Exactly.

Ironically, or more specifically stupidly, a lot of these same people are screaming for the government to "stay out of our bedrooms", which is EXACTLY WHAT THIS SCOTUS RULING ENSURES. That no government can decide that two consenting adults cannot marry.

This ruling removes government intervention, not add to it.

The ruling doesn't mandate anything. It merely prevents government at any domestic level from prohibiting marriage between two loving adults.

Isn't less government a good thing to the political right?

People want it when it benefits them, but when it's something they disagree with it's "Big government"..

I don't think people understand, or pretend they don't that this ruling didn't "add" anything, just that the sates were denying the 14th amendment

Just an Update:

www.courier-journal.com...
"This proposal simply seeks to further protect religious freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment," Lee said.

Kind of like what the Marriage Equality ruling did to the 14th amendment right?

Aren't they the ones who keep saying gay marriage is a slippery slope?

Apparently, slippery slopes don't apply to them.

The stupid thing is that Heteros are the majority. Nothing is going to get past them without their permission,

So, if marrying your cat is brought in, straights allowed it.

If marrying your sister is allowed, well that is a straight thing anyway and they let it happen.

It's one of the much abused privileges of having the numbers on your side.

Slippery slope my bunghole
