My latest Cryptid hunt.

I was in the woods looking for my favourite cryptid and found a very large member of a closely related species so felt good, nice hike interesting fauna, promising prospects. On the path back I was three miles out in the woods when I encountered this... Can you tell what it is?
It's a classic blurry photo of some type of large animal ; ) Needless to say I was a bit worried, but everything ended OK. It was about 400-600 pounds, 6 feet long, 4 feet high.

It's black. Definitely black.

I'd say, in all likelihood, that's a bear. You can see the light spot in the center of its face. Classic black bear.

Yup, bear.
I saw a lot of wildlife that day.
but the bear was the only one that spooked me.
The bear was polite and let me pass.
He had been eating grubs out of a log on the path.
I had the sense earlier that something might be hunting me when I passed by earlier, so believing that you can communicate mentally with animals I just put the thought out I was not seeking to die that day or become dinner. The bear probably already knew I was there as it could smell my scent trail. Made a little noise to let it know I was there. Don't want to surprise a bear.

Am I the only one that thinks it's Bigfoot?

When you say everything went ok, what did that mean? Did the bear start charging at you?

It has some kind of yellow face. Black bear maybe?
