Yes, Eleanor Roosevelt the former First Lady of the US. Yes, Eleanor Roosevelt that died in 1962. That's the one I'm referring to.

Eleanor was very politically and socially active during her life. She was the longest serving First Lady of the US, from March of 1933 until April of 1945. She was a human rights activist - a strong advocate of women's rights and minority rights and rights for WWII refugees. She was the first Chair of the UN Commission on Human Rights and oversaw the drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

To many, she was considered a socialist and a communist. She even tried to set up a commune in West Virginia called Arthurdale, which failed miserably due to government ineptness.

Eleanor was married to President Franklin D. Roosevelt from March 1905 until his death in April of 1945. During their marriage she discovered that he was cheating on her, but remained with him, it is suspected, for political appearances. Although she bore him 6 children, she once wrote "It did not come naturally to me to understand little children or to enjoy them". Some suspect she was gay or bisexual as she had close relationships with several known lesbians throughout her life.

She wrote frequently and used the media to further her agenda. She even banned male reporters from participating at her press conferences.
She penned several newspaper/magazine columns and contributed many articles expressing her views to the media until her death in November of 1962.

An interesting and dynamic woman. Here is her page on Wikipedia: Eleanor Roosevelt

Now how can this long dead woman start a nuclear war? Well, she seems to be telling someone what to do, from the other side! That someone is non other than Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Hillary has long idealized Eleanor and has even made it clear that Eleanor tells her to do things. She also claims to channel Mahatma Gandhi!!

Um, ok.

To many, this woman's integrity is non-existent as it is. Political power and greed have corrupted her so completely that she seems capable of doing almost anything to further her agenda. She might soon be the most powerful person on the Earth. And she's being told what to do by dead people? Some liberals like to say that Republicans don't hate Hillary as much as they are afraid of her. Well I'm not even a Republican and I admit I'm terrified of her now. I think she's insane. This woman needs to be kept as far away from the button as possible. Unless you like your liver well done - and I mean YOUR liver.

BTW, another poster child for sanity that claims to speak to dead people is none other than Nancy Pelosi! She claims she's heard from Susan B. Anthony and several others! But I'm not afraid of Nancy - she's too goofy. Hillary is a different story. Heck, she may already be doing all the corrupt crap she does and not feel accountable for it because:

"Eleanor told me to do it."

McArthur too for that matter, what with him wanted to stir-fry the Chinese good and proper when they intervened in Korea.

I think Patton would fit in the mix too.
I believe he advocated driving through Germany and pushing the Soviets back to Moscow.

I doubt he would have used NUKES, he was all about he execution of the art of war, he hated the thought of no honor in battle.

True.
It killed him inside as a soldier when they held him back in Europe, allowing the Soviets to take more ground.

She has been described as Co President as well as running the country secretly for her husband. Given the time frame she was first lady, the political climate and the war I thin she probably could have convinced the right people to take that kind of action. I seriously doubt she would have had to convince the military people to her line of thought.

1st ladies have always had that weird position in the White House. They aren't elected and don't have code word clearance, no access to intelligence etc yet its widely accepted that the President is going to discuss those very issues with his wife in the course of a marriage.

Particularly in the months leading up to his death. He was, by some accounts, almost completely invalided.

She was nothing, if not iron-willed.

As for starting a nuclear war? Seems unlikely. She wouldn't have in life, doubt she will from the hereafter...

Some of the responses seem to be very grounded, as if you might think it's silly that I ask if a dead person could start a nuclear war. I get that, but I'm not the one claiming to channel dead people. It's Hillary I'm worried about.

You've a valid point there.

I'm not a fan of any Clinton, past, present, or future.

I have doubts about her basic integrity/honesty. No opinion at all about her sanity...though wanting to be President would lead one to wonder, I suppose.

Remember, at the end of European war the US still had another theater to prepare for, Russia did not.

As far as Hillary goes I doubt we would see a nuclear war. The climate now days is nowhere near the way it was during WWII. The current nuclear weapons are so much more stronger / deadlier than back in the day that absolutely no one would be immune from its effects.

I have to agree with Seagull when it comes to her honesty/integrity/sanity. To be honest I doubt she could win the presidency. Her inability to tell the truth coupled with her "above the law above the people" mentality is a turnoff.

As for her latest rally in NY I am curious how many people were present because they actually support her and how many were bused in to make the event look full.

I would be more inclined to vote for Eleanor before Hillary.

What in the hell are you babbling about?

Good grief.

There is more than enough in the slime trail that Hillary has left behind her to toss out there. But this...

I mean honestly.
