My parents have told stories about me when I was little, seeing people who weren't there.

There was someone I called "the funny man" and I would point at the air and laugh, claiming he was doing funny antics.
My mom went to a medium and asked what was going on, she said I was seeing a great uncle of my mothers (dead long before I was born) who was hanging around to protect my little brother while in utero (my mom was pregnant at the time).
My mom remembered him as loving kids and being the clown for all the children at family get-togethers.

The night she went into labor, I came out of bed to find them and was saying the funny man was crying. I never talked of him again after that.

There were other stories, like me playing with "babies that were not born yet" that no one else could see, but I don't remember any of this, and it didn't continue with age.

Personally no. But I do have a crazy story that is kind of similar. My sister got around ALOT when she was a teenager and got pregnant. She had a baby at 15. She said she had no idea who the father was and never got any paternity tests etc. A mutual friend of ours died from a drug overdose a couple of years later. Fast forward a few more. My new nephew was 5. One day he started playing with an imaginary friend and called him daddy jon gee. Our friend that died and was with my sister before was named John G*****. I found it a bit bizarre because no one ever mentioned him around my nephew that I know of.

When I was around 5 years old, I saw shadow people in my room. I talked to my mom about it years later and she confirmed that I often said there were people watching me. I barely remember it now, but I do believe children are susceptible to the other side of the veil.

My two year old niece will sometimes stop romping around and stare off at seemingly nothing across the room. I've only seen her do it a couple of times. When it happens, all playing and movement stop and she just stares silently. It's like something got her attention and she's drawn to watch it. I can't help but wonder what it was she had seen when it happened.

In short yes.. IMHO. (First post - Hi all)

Before I get to story I just want to say that we are taught that this stuff isn't real and therefore less likely to see it the older we get.

My step father passed away about a month ago. A few days after his death one of his grand children had a concert at school, she claimed that she saw him in the audience. I could go into the technicals of why this would be - in short I think it has to do with the concept that our minds have one foot in the classical word and one foot in the quantum world and just like a muscle, this 'skill' needs to be exercised. Some children do it naturally. As we get older we stop using this muscle since we don't believe it exists. Therefore I believe it is possible to learn how to exercise it and regain the skill. Hey... just my opinion but yes, I believe children are in some way or another more open to the experience than adults.

In my culture, we believed that most children below the age of 6 are able to see the dead/spirits. As they age gradually this "gift" would be lost, but some would retain this though. As such we are against the ideas of bringing kids to funerals/cemetries or hospitals unless its necessary.

Similarly, when a person whose time on earth is coming to an end, he/she on his deathbed would "regain" this "gift" for a short period of time(normally for a day or two) before moving on. Normally these people would be telling you of the decreased folks who have been coming to visit him/her.

Hard to convince people on this but those with first hand experience like myself would know what im talking about.

A couple of weeks before my grandfather died he said that he had been seeing my grandmother about the house even though she had passed away a few years before. He was an Aussie with an Irish heritage. I think maybe children are more honest with themselves about what they have seen than adults so they are more likely to say something. I don't know.

yes. and imo, it is not a good sign…

more likely a sign that some doors to the supernatural are open.

you are lucky you discovered it: when I was a kid I was attacked by supernatural and did not know how to tell anyone…

every night was terror going to bed…

prayer, persistent prayer, to God… that is what finally made it go away. i wish I had known to ask God in Jesus's name… Jesus tells us repeatedly to ask God in his name because we have authority over supernatural when we do (some require fasting and prayer).

the phenomenon of seeing dead relatives is usually benign, from what I have read and heard.

But who knows how this "spirit" is representing your dead relative to your child.

tell the child it may not be who it says it is.

if possible, ask it in Jesus's name to tell you who it really is. They must comply and you might be shocked at the answer.

blessings!

and when the child says it is in the room with you, command it in Jesus's name to be bound and removed from your life.

I don't think children actually see dead people but I do think that young brains might be more naturally in tune with the "source" that all information comes from and sometimes they pick up on things we don't perceive.

Why didn't you ask her what she saw?

Just something I thought I would add. Back around 98 or so I had my right eye cloud over with a cataract. So they put in a artificial lens. Something I noticed is that now my right eye can see ultraviolet much better now. Looking at black lights for example my left eye sees a black tube with dim purple light around it.

But my right eye sees a bright purple tube with quite a lot of purple light. So as a thought I would say it's possible that the eyes of youngsters may actually be seeing light that old eyes may be blocking out.

I mention this because since the operation I have seen a couple of oddities that may have been supernatural. Like seeing a 10 to 15 foot tall shadow cross the road in front of me at a red light one time.

And another? One morning I came home from working the night shift and was reading the news off of Yahoo. then I noticed the implant in my right eye was buzzing. And a face appeared in the computer screen. After looking at it for a few seconds I mentally forced it to go away. And it never came back. Though I did change out that old CRT monitor for a newer flatscreen. Haunted monitor maybe?

Just some thoughts.

I'm 38 I can communicate with the dead I've also seen dead people. It's something I tapped into many years ago and no longer do. At first it was fun to do but there were other things that came along with it. I've stayed away from doing so for the past 15 years.

Yes I believe dead people exist on another plane. I've seen enough to know it is possible to talk and to see the dead. I don't know if everyone can do it or if some people are just more in tune with the other side.

It's said that a young children have a more active pineal gland and it produces '___' more often. This being the chemical that releases in our brains hen we sleep and when we die. It's believed this is the bridge to the afterlife or the next dimension if you will. I've always for elt that's why children's pupils are so large. Since dimethyltryptimine dialates your pupils. That's the best logical proof to back the answer yes. Beyond that I would believe some children are more prone based on life experience, family, location and level of empathy and who is gifted.

Yes they see them everyday going to work, paying bills, chasing money, and planning for future happiness.

There's really nothing, to be freaked out about, grandpa is looking out from the other side, for said grand daughter and spending time with her, time he didn't have with her when he was with you. This is a very common occurrence. In fact it happened to me, when I was going thru a very difficult time in my life in my 20s, my grandmother came to me in a dream, and said, my, look how you've grown, please tell your mother to stop worrying so much about you, your going to be fine. And sure enough a couple of months later, my life completely changed, I'm certainly not the same person I was 25 years ago. I've also had visions for friends & family with warnings for them, that have come true. For me this is not unusual, call it empathic ability, clairvoyance, being a sensitive. Its not something I chose to have, but I certainly have no real fear of it. I work independently on I.T projects, on occasion, and can most certainly tell when I'm not wanted at a location, residence or business, if the client doesn't know about, I will always let them know, you have permanent residents.
