President Obama went out of his way to try and lure people to his side in approving a bill called Trade Adjustment Assistance, or TAA, that was understood to be key to finalizing fast-track trade authority for the administration. (That one is TPA, "trade promotion authority." You can read more here, if you enjoy acronyms.) The House obliterated/crushed/etc. TAA by more than two-to-one, with a vast majority of Democrats and Republicans voting against it.

It's not a simple as you make it sound. It's a good thing but the fight is far from over.

A lot of procedural chicanery is going on both for Fast Track Approval/TPP and against.

I think I saw it posted here that someone said that this was all part of the dog and pony show anyway. Obama had to be behind this really shady crappy agreement so the rest of the Dems can distance themselves by voting against this. It never really is quite as simple as the MSM tells us now is it?

the Dem's now have the high ground---- they will insist that they 'voted against an Obama dictatorial authority' but will completely muddy-the-waters about finally passing the Presidential Fast-Trak dictatorial Authority on the 2nd- or 3rd votes...

the escape logic is 'they' denied Obama but finally relented in favor of the future Presidents & the single handed power they can have....COP=OUT to the extreme !
