ex-IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn acquitted in prostitution ring trial

Old Dominic has managed to wangle himself out of another "ahem" sex scandal :

A court in northern France on Friday acquitted Dominique Strauss-Kahn in a vice trial that captured the attention of the French public, four years after the former IMF chief avoided prosecution in New York on accusations of sexual assault.

Strauss-Kahn’s acquittal was largely expected on Friday after state prosecutor called for his acquittal during hearings in February, citing lack of proof.

The former Socialist party politician, who was once tipped to become France’s president, stood accused in his home country of instigating sex parties with prostitutes and risked a 10-year jail sentence.

More specifically, Strauss-Kahn was slapped with charges of “aggravated pimping”, in that he was aware that the women who attended orgies with him between 2009 and 2011 were prostitutes.

As being a customer of a prostitute is not a crime over here in france he has been aqquited.

I would have personally kept the comment about his religion out of this posting to avoid thread drift and answers from other members who may be offended by your post.

Being Jewish, you assume some tribal leniency, if in fact the assail comes from fellow banking peer. Plus, to me, its thought provoking that the IMF as a whole, faithfully entrusted a leadershop position to a person with socialist tendancies. It's a kind of interesting angle.

I just assume total respect to other peoples religious faiths.

May I suggest that you take a look at the current IMF leader Christine Lagarde who is also a socialist? you will find her personal family, academic and religious background here but only in French (Google translate should do the job :-) ) : fr.wikipedia.org...
