Sub-title:

Calling out Clinton for being wishy-washy on the TPP, Sanders says: 'If she’s against this, we need her to speak out.'

It looks as though the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) is set to become law Senator Bernie Sanders wants Hillary Clinton on the record (yea/nay) before the fact.

"This vote is the whole ballgame," Campaign for America's Future fellow Dave Johnson wrote earlier this week, referring to Fast Track, or trade promotion authority, which the U.S. House of Representatives is expected to take up on Friday. "It won’t matter what Clinton might say later about TPP, because Wall Street and the giant multinational corporations will do what it takes to make sure it will pass the Republican House and Senate."

"What is the secretary’s point of view on that?" he asked of the act that he voted against.

In a separate article, the Times reports that in her kick-off speech on Saturday, Clinton "will directly address concerns that have emerged in the early weeks of her candidacy, telling voters they can trust her to fight for the middle class and stressing that she cares about their problems."

Really?

Why don't Bernie tell us what's in it then?

Same with all the rest who have read it but say they are forbidden to talk about it! That would be a shoo in for anyone who is running to say FU to Obama and tell us serfs what the bill actually will do to destroy our economy!

Waiting.....................

If this "law" affects everyone, then shouldn't we know what's in it?

If there's nothing bad in it, then there's no reason to hide what's in it.

Right?

You actually support a president who would jail a sitting congressman/senator for telling the people the truth?

Go elsewhere please? WTF does that even mean? Are you a fascist who opposes free thought and opinion?

You'd really know who's side he's on now wouldn't you? From what I have read in the TPP, the end is nigh. I expect if this passes we'll see full collapse between late August and early September, this year. This is a very dangerous piece of sh*t treaty that takes any and all power out of the hands of the people and politicians, and places all authority in the hands of corporations.

Cheers - Dave

Which is what is the saddest thing ever. Secrecy contracts can be legally binding to prison time. There is no secret you tell that should send you to prison when it comes to business, if it's a secret, someone somewhere knows it and will benefit most likely.

We need to make it clear that anyone who votes yes on this thing gets lynched. No trial, no forgiveness, straight up lynched in public. Who voted which way will be the determining factor. Vote yes and you're in deep sh*t up to your eye balls. Vote no and we let ya go.

They are selling out every person in this nation. They are giving up the Sovereignty of the Nation and placing International Corps. above the authority of our own Government and it's People. (Which doesn't even seem possible legally. How is that even possible. Is that not a direct Violation of their position in office??? How is it not treason???)

And they are doing it opening while keeping the details secret for 6 years after it is approved.

Completely agree. It's disgusting.

Seriously, 6 years after it's approved??? WTF is in this thing??? Why on earth does anything that is approved and will be happening have to be secret for another 6 years???

How exactly can it be implemented or how can anyone even do what it says if it's secret for after it's put in action??? That's the same as arresting people for secret laws that nobody knows about!!! Couldn't they just make stuff up for the next 6 years since nobody can verify it anyway. Even if they do, they can't speak publicly about it anyway.

You know there is some new law in there that literally says, "All the people of earth have sold their souls and their children's souls to the Devil." Or something similar.

Apologies.

The details are to be kept secret for 4 years.

Many of the provisions will not only be secret before the vote in the House, but will also be kept secret for four years after the bill is signed. That means we won’t know what’s in it even after it’s passed.

Good point! If done on the floor of Congress the Constitution gives them absolute protection from prosecution.

Knowing that little gem makes it doubly damning none have done so.

I agree with the idea that We the People have a right to know what is in this so-called Treaty.

What is your problem? That's I don't want Bernie Sanders thrown in Jail for breaking the law of the land?

Do you want him to go to jail.

Maybe someone should sacrific themselves but how are they to release it - they can't even take notes about what they read, it's in lawyerese that most don't understand. Just how is his supposed to Leak the doc.

Seems to me that Wikileaks has already leaked a lot of the document.

Please go elsewhere if you are just trolling ....

No - but I do oppose deliberate and obtuse derailment of a topic. I do oppose - non-constructive drivel only meant to side track those who might be interested in a 'news development'.

I do opposed posts that are contrary just to be negitive and contrary and in the course of reading and commenting just ignore such. But when a simple thread is turned into an off-topic rant about whatever I will respond.

My point is. You are free to feel and say whatever you want - but I don't want it hear and, in my understanding, ATS is trying to discourage just such behavoir.

And what good would come of him being arrested and jailed.

This is not directly about the TPP. It is about Senator Sanders calling out Former Secretary Clinton for not stating her position on the matter.

That is all this thread is about and if the other (granted important) stuff is so much more important please start a thread about it.

This issue, is paramount, and can use all possible threads throw at it.

I get it - you don't like me, you don't like my politics, you don't like my take on society. Fine, then don't engage me.

Engage my ideas all you want.

This is a multi-partisan issue, the TPP, affecting every man, woman and child in multiple countries around the pacific.

Why are you attacking me? Why do you insist (erroneously) that I oppose your supposed conviction.

Why not offer productive ways to fight this rather then fight over things that don't exist.

That's the second time you have suggested a poster, who raises serious concerns here to leave. Now you are suggesting that Beezer may be "trolling"?? Seriously?

Paint as me a troll too then, and I'll GTFO as well.
