I found that 8.5 trillion misplaced by the Pentagon...well MOST of it!

When this came to my attention I put on my Sherlock Holmes hat and me and Watson went snooping and we uncovered many secret stashes where the 8.5 trillion was "disappeared" to and below are some of the places we suspected and located:

sleek design and special color,shaped titanium, silver roofs,
hemp rope for hanging,general's dog in style, somebody needs to shovel that manure, party favors,found some change here,that cute redhead across the way, got to keep an eye on those pesky communists and terrorists,we have ways to make you talk, tape the whistleblowers mouth shut for crying out loud and fix that damn couch!

Okay, I lied this was only about 1.5 million, the rest is in a secret bank account in the Caymans.

They didn't 'misplace' it. If they told us where it went that would piss us off even more.

So, whoops, now you see it, now you don't.

LOL uhhh It's 8.5 trillion like in your title, not 8.5 million as in your OP. A trillion is a million million. However, I liked your OP nonetheless.

That's an incredible amount of money, just about half of the U.S. debt!

Wouldn't be surprised if some the $8.5 trillion went to Israel.

They spent all of it on super rare pokemon cards because the pentagon knows that future wars will be fought in pokemon gyms

After two wars in the middle east, Iraq and Iraq II, with Iran's Shah in the prerun. Haven't you thought that ISIS is sort of a "saviour in disguise". I mean, if you look at it ... ISIS, the Islamic states are known as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Doha, The Arab emirates ... but suddenly a comload of foreign muslims pour into the middle east to kill other muslims.

Just in time for the US to come in and SAVE all those poor muslims... and look like the heroes.

Ask me, those 8.5 trillion dollars went right down that lane ....

And now, the US is sending people down there to "teach" the people in the middle east to wage war. So that NEXT TIME, there is a war ... they can REALLY KILL EACH other, not just a big mess out of it.

8.5 trillion to save the US taxpayer of having to go down there and turn it all into a parking lot.

Not nothing. They invent them with their false monetary system so that they can play ping pong with imaginary currency. I made smoke once, but it required some matches and a water apparatus.
