Honestly I had no idea who the flying F* Caitlin Jenner was until last night.

But I did know all 10 news stories from the source you quoted.

Same here. My friends couldn't believe I hadn't heard of Jenner. I was super disappointed they hadnt heard all the news. Or even about the sentencing of Ross Ulbricht.

Yes i care about transgender issues, as a Member of the LGBTQ. i have my opinions of Caitlyn Jenner as a Celebrity, but as far as issues that do affect my life, Yes

You can't always choose how Awareness presents itself, but awareness is needed.

Many, many people who never thought about Transgender - - are now aware.

It kinda sucks for all the diligent, hard working activists who's names may never be known. But, ya gotta take it for what it is.

Sadly She ( as the rest of the LGBTQ community) don't enjoy equal application of the law everywhere. there are many issues that Transgender People will face

Thanks Darth.

More then a human interest story. Rights, Equality, Awareness.

Thank you! Imagine saying goodbye to your little friend, before the operation? Bye, Bye little buddy. All those deep dark holes we've been down together, all the pissing in the wind, your name in yellow on snow and all the fun we've had together. It never did work out too well, the time I let you make all the decisions. You were a little single minded, perseverating on one thing and one thing only. I ended up with the clap and two decades of child support after that one.

At the same time though you have no emotional attachment to it, it's a body part that you shouldn't have...

I actually heard about all those. I don't care about Mr. Jenner. I really didn't think it was important. Typical smoke screen the media throws up, if you ask me.

a reply to: Greathouse No I don't give a chit about Brucy. Baby. He's as loony as a fruit bat. Maybe he wants to perform in the senior Olympics as a woman. -I suspect he will end up by himself in a rundown beach house where he will end up like Robin Williams.

Can't say I follow the main subject of the thread in the news here, but support the community overall. Also, if helps someone, somewhere for the cause that's a step ahead.

Though, must say that's a very good list of what has been going on lately, and should surely be looked into.

I guess I am a news Junkie, but have read about all of those 10 stories on what I would consider mainstream news sources. I have also read endless drivel about the Duggars and Ms. Jenner. None of these things directly affect my life as my concerns are feeding my family and paying my bills.

a reply to: Annee A Rights and Equality story? The same old load of twallop. Its more of a sickness and health story. There are people who feel disabled inside and therefore want to remove one of their legs so that their outside appearance matches how they feel inside. Is that ok ? At some point you have to notice the bats in the Belfry. - yes If a story affects you you will be more interested.

Well, you're wrong.

But, you have a right to your unfounded opinion.

I have to agree, Jenner's transition was not newsworthy in the least. It should be a personal journey from Jenner's subjective viewpoint and should have simply remained personal and private. Other than that, blasting it all over the news was stupid and pointless.

Pointless to who?

There are people who never heard of Transgender following his story.

Awareness is everything! Or at least its the beginning of knowledge and understanding that sexuality is far more diverse then once thought (by many).

Transgender is not a sickness for one.

again, i don't feel that Caitlyn is a Spokesperson for the Trans community, this does at least bring awareness to the cause, which is a noteworthy news story

Don't get me wrong Miss Jenner's story is one of courage and bravery but whats being buried behind it is much more important such as #10 on this list.

I think it is a story of mental illness.

If a child tells you he wants to be an amputee you don't cut his arm off you get him mental help, but because he is an adult we indulge him and help him cut pieces off himself. Giving awards to this freak is ridiculous and smacks of social engineering at its worst.

On topic...yes, everything on that list was of greater importance as were 100s of other stories not on that list.

What? Pointless to 99.8% of the general population (transgendered not even 0.2%, I was being generous). Sounds like advertising for "tail wag dog" syndrome again. Something like Wynn (lesbian) and Levin (convicted pedophile) writing the preteen sex-ed program in Ontario. I guess the PTB figured grooming kids was important for politicians, err, I mean politics, because the LGBT crowd and ped lobbyists pushed hard. And no, I don't want to see any of this crap on any news channel I might fall across between DVD's or in the public school system and I certainly don't want to see 2% of the population teaching kids about their sexual options, preferences and "consent" at 6 or 7 years old. Tolerance is one thing, but if the 2% push this agenda all the time and it's always in the news, there is something seriously wrong.

As far as gender goes... if you have ovaries, you're female. If you have testicles, you're male. If you have both or neither, you have mutated gene coding. This is not f'ing rocket science, get over yourselves. Bravery and courage is dealing with a situation you don't want to be in, not opting out for a bit of hormones and nip and tuck.

I hope Jenner finds his/her/??? way and is happy, but it ain't news. On a scale of 0-10 for newsworthiness of a particular subject or story, this ranks about -4 as far as I am concerned.

Cheers - Dave
