Just thinking out loud here .. there is something about a fear-monger aided bill that has just expired, and there is a distinct lack of fear. A, quote, "handful of senators" are even downright, quote, "resisting", renewal of certain provisions Obama tells me on live TV.

Huh ..

So .. the Vice President is out ( I cannot imagine him keeping his schedule for the time being, poor guy)

So .. the Secretary of State is out (at least for a couple of days - he is presumable on mind-numbing painkillers)

Huh .. that could be convenient ..

How about thinking out loud with a little more detail. Not everyone on this site is American so it's hard to grasp what exactly you're going on about in your op.

Well it looks like a lot of weird things with our government our not quite up to full working speed, and it feels odd, because usually America does not act like this.. I agree it feels off, hopefully it's all just happening in parallel, not in sequence.

I'm not normally one to scream "False Flag" or anything, but it wouldn't surprise me if something awful happens in the next few days to justify the "Patriot" act being renewed in full, or even expanded to "protect" your "freedoms".

Just a hunch I have.

Not so much that for me... I think they will just do what they want anyway.

That's how I feel too.
Which is worse in my mind than a false flag..

But I'm not focusing like this.
Gotta focus on me, and try and keep informed.

I actually have a whole weird idea about what the true conspiracies are, and I think they mostly are not. I think the bad guys were always inside of us. I notice this because when one strives for the light and starts getting noticed for it, weird things happen to them later, that sort of follow mind control or just personality changes.

Mix that with a core international group of true in the knows..

Perhaps you could elaborate.

In the UK we tend not to listen to daily Obama and your opening post and title aren't explaining much.

and i guess i connect the dots to.............. COUP? nah. the way it plays out from that angle suggests it would be the GOP attempting it. since they are on the same side....... i don't see it happening. or were you suggesting something else?

Sorry.

I am talking about potential false flag operations to secure support for a second Patriot Act.

Years ago - already more than decade - in the aftermath of 9/11 the Patriot Act was forced down the throat of Congress.

"They sky will fall", they said, "if you do not sign this bill! And you do not need to know to read it first! There is no time!" - Today few doubt that had it not been for the fear-mongering and the perceived urgency, the bill would never have passed.

Midnight Sunday the bill expired without having been renewed and not everyone is pleased about that. Obama certainly is not. Quite a few agencies too, I suspect, are not.

I do not really believe that there will be a false flag operation, but after countless hours on the boards of ATS I could not help but think the thought. :-)

Sure. :-)

Joe Biden's son has just died, and John Kerry has had an accident biking and have, I believe, broken his leg. Meanwhile the clock ran out for renewal (of at least some parts of) the Patriot Act, and Obama is whining about it on TV.

I - albeit not wholeheartedly - entertain the notion that it could be convenient to "incapacitate" Kerry (Head of State) and Biden (Vice President) before any false flag operations that would require a specific response from the Administration for it to succeed.

Thanks.

I wouldn't put corruption of that sort past any politician. I guess it will be known soon.

i don't see a flase flag simply because most people would have at least some doubt about the authenticity of the "attack" after the past 15 years of "skepticism" becoming "PC"

i would like to point out, since you are playing with that idea, that there was a dem next in line before biden "disappeared", and now, it is boehner (R). i don't know what to think of that.

More like, we have new methods, we don't need to spy directly anymore as the providers will fill in the blanks for us.

I seriously doubt they intend to stop meddling in everyones private affairs. Just giving the impression is all.

They aren't allowed to stop meddling..
People know who we are if they want to.
Can't control that, but I can control who I am.

Foucault spoke of that, self-monitoring and how the individual adjust his behavior by the mere THOUGHT of being watched.

That is really a scary thought - we live in a virtual panopticon, thus we moderate ourselves. The scary part is not that we try to behave - that in itself is sort of neat - no, the scary part is that we (or so the theory goes) have a tendency to behave like we believe The Watchers wants us to behave.

THAT is what make surveillance such an insanely powerful tool for the proverbial powers that be.

Thank you. And let me expand upon WHY such a powerful tool is undesirable, because one might say "hey, that is GREAT if the government can keep check on 'bad people'. I have nothing to hide - why should the government not be allowed to listen in?"

Reasonable argument, only people who have something to hide can be against it, right?

No.
It is not about that.

It is about balance of power. No one person or institution should possess to much.

I believe your founding fathers went to great lengths to ensure that. I am not American, but as I understand your constitution (heck, your declaration of independence too) it is written around the idea that government should govern (as opposed to rule as ruler) and thus never possess the means to control the people.

People should should possess the means to control government - hence the second amendment and the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878.

THAT is why it is undesirable.

(and yes, I just went ahead and assumed that you are American .. and yes, I basically copy and pasted an earlier post of mine from another thread )

I am a Proud American. Not because I am Nationalistic though, because I am not. I am humanistic. It really was set up Godly. Freedom from EACH OTHER..

I want to see more constitutions changed or made..

And when I see people hating on Americans, it makes me sad.
I am here to help. It's the only reason I came here. Seeing my country the way it is.. I don't know if you can understand the pain of 9/11.. It's worse than having your parents divorce..

Fear is the antithesis of Free Will. Don't be afraid. Keep working.

Nice thread by the way.

No fear.

People also learn how to be more secretive. In the long run this tends to increase so called crimes (either civil or against the State), thus the opposite outcome the monitoring was designed to prevent.

Prisoners housed in a panopticon become better criminals.
