ALL MEMBERS: Server Migration Is Complete

Beginning around 9:00 AM PST on Thursday May 28, we're going to start the monumental task of moving all the ATS data to our new servers.

This will begin by placing ATS on a "write lock" to prevent the posting of new threads, posts, uploads, private messages, etc. while the data migration is taking place.

Next we're going to confirm data integrity and run a few final tests and checks… as well as synchronize your uploaded files with the new system.

Once we're happy that all the data is properly integrated, we'll make changes to the DNS so that traffic eventually starts hitting the new server. If you've experienced the write-lock, then suddenly you can post again, you'll be on the new server.



While we've done this before, ATS has never been this large or complex. So please be patient as we upgrade our core infrastructure.

Thanks for the warning. Will there be some binary magic happening and when it goes back online i can not only choose between black & white, but also a pink layout? Somehow i want the backscreen to be pink...

We'll be online, just in read-only mode until the new servers are operational.

Will this wipe out the photo collections (I think that happened before?) or will all the photos travel over to the new territory safe and undisturbed. Congrats on the new servers, that's a pretty big deal.

Guys, there is a earth shattering earthquake going to hit the USA tomorrow so I think we have bigger things to worry about.

So the End of the world Prophecy was correct, but we are going to be re-born just hours after death. Interesting.

Its been said (truthfully I think) that the ATS servers hold an amount of data on par with a medium sized country. That sounds like a big job ahead so I wish you all the best. Fingers crossed for luck. Knocks on wood , and all that good stuff.

As this won't effect the migration of beer from my fridge to my mouth, I'll survive not posting. I'll just do what I normally do when ATS goes down and continuously (and rapidly) hit refresh until I fix it for you.
