Why is it limited to just cops? Have you ever been a cop? Where is your outrage over the killing by a drunk driver? Well I for one saw many WHITE people rioting in both Ferguson and Baltimore.. It is not just about white cops killing blacks. There is all kinds of videos and stories over the last few years of cops killing dogs, and slamming white women into the ground, and kicking a white teen in the face and so on and so on.

We are getting collectivly pissed and fed up with their abuse of power, and the killings of unarmed people just makes it boil over.

Absolutely, and it gets worse and worse. 2 women pulled over on the freeway and examined vaginally for drugs on the roadside? Women asked to pull up their bras for male police...on the roadside? People's dog's shot? A 12 year old child with a toy gun drove up on by police in a park and shot dead in seconds. It goes on and on and on...People are angry. If blacks were more angry before, all races are becoming really p*ssed off.

Your statistics do not justify that. I would be able to generate all kinds of charts for you, but that does not answer the question? How come they do not protest when a black cop kills a black? Explain that one to me? How come they don't protest when one of their gang bangers does a drive by and kills innocent children? How come they do nothing to help the cops solve those crimes? Killing of any kind is senseless, where are all the protests? Seriously, you think you can just ignore what I wrote and bring your silly statistics in here and that will just clear things up in an instant? Seriously?

Look at the cops who were recently indicted in the Freddie Gray death. THREE are black.

I think we should schedule July 4 as an annual National Protest Day. A lot of working people have the day off anyway, and it could highlight just how far down the tubes we have gone.

There's a source I have seen it. But it's per population not per capita. I really don't see this as much as a race issue as it is a poverty issue. You can bet your ass most of the white people shot were poor also.

Good example. I am a white, blonde female. I can walk all over the town i live in, which is exactly next to Buffalo, NY. So exactly, that Kenmore ave on one side is the town I live in and Buffalo is the other side of the street. I could walk through both areas, through apartment complexes, through good and bad neighborhoods....wearing a hoodie, carrying a can of iced tea and a bag of candy....and not be harassed by police or Neighborhood Watch. I am absolutely sure of this.

I don't think that some people are very good at math. African Americans are a minority. Meaning that there are less African Americans than Whites in this country. When 1 out of 10 in a minority is killed it is a higher percentage of the whole of them than 1 in 10 whites.

We should protest whenever a police officer kills someone unjustifiably. We can protest against Boko Haram killing people. We can protest the US government torturing people. Protesting whenever anyone anywhere gets killed is simply not possible. People kill people. That is why we have jails.
Police are not supposed to murder. And, when they murder a minority, or a protected class, we protest. We have also protested police unjustifiably killing whites. We have protested when police have unlawfully searched whites. Google is your friend, since you don't like my 'silly statistics'.

The entire question invites bigots. Though you veil it as an innocent question.

It is a higher percentage of young black males killed per million of young black males than per million of young white males. But, you are right, I am certain that most of the young white males were poor.

I am not liking that it took up time and statistic hunting. "No rioting' is naive, all riots will not end as long as we see the events we seem to see day after day after day. It only grows worse.

I cannot tell if the OP is race baiting or really naive.

I think that many of these arguments are attempting to segregate a group, and all it does is create more social unrest. It should not be blacks vs. cops, or whites vs. cops, etc. In general I think most police officers try to do what's right. Yes, there are many bad eggs, as in every organization, as in every race. That should not cause us to discriminate that group and attempt to put broad stereotypes across them all, just the same as with race. It's just a method of separating us as a people.

There was also a really good episode of "Through the Wormhole" season 6, episode 1: "Are we all Biggots". Really shed some light on how we treat each other.

There was one really cool experiment where they took normal people and flashed an image of either a white or black for one second holding a gun or a cell phone. With a real loaded gun they had to decide if they where a threat and shoot at them, or not if they where a pedestrian within that second. In general, whites as well as blacks where 30% more likely to mistake the black person with the cell phone as a threat proving it was not something as simple as a grudge against a race, but something deeper they went into. On a side note, even tho trained police officers still mistook the black person more often than the white as a threat and shot, they made much less mistakes in general than normal people.

All this to me is just proof that generally pointing out a single organization, like the cops, or a race, and making general broad stereotypes on them is the cause for most of the issues that are in our society today.

- P.S. - Before some one replies something like "well look at how bad this group is, this group keeps thinking of this group this way and treating this group like this...we should treat this group then like this", they should look up the word hypocrite in the dictionary and study it.

I learned very young to not do thing to put me in harm's way. I learned that if a cop says stop...you stop! I learned not to do things that brought attention to me. When I did something wrong while in school I got a swat and another when I got home. If I associated with a bad crowd my grandma would punish me. I think what I'm trying to say is be respectful to authorities even if you disagree. Act in a honorable manner. Respect the property of others. Have enough self respect to do the right things.

Nothing in life is fair! It never has been fair now, in the past, or will be in the future. Nobody is disadvantaged in the US that is willing to work for it regardless of the color of your skin.

Cop shoot people that put someone in harm's way. Skin color doesn't change this fact! I have never had a bad experience when dealing with police because I did exactly what they wanted. I didn't try to fight with them or cuss them out...I treated them with respect and got the same in return.
