Wow thanks Phage.

The highest count of murders on there was 18 in 2009. If I remember right this source was a two day total. I'm sure you've seen the stats in the thread from last year.

Baltimore is definitely simmering!!

I think you missed my bigger point so I will give more context. Ya it is different from year to year but the bottom line remains these are dangerous areas to visit and live because of thug culture......Am I wrong.

I live outside the Milwaukee metro area so I have a little knowledge about bad neighborhoods. The north side of this city is right proper dangerous place. In the summer months you would be crazy to walk at night down certain blocks. And ya the murder rate goes up and down but the bottom line stays the same........Dangerous place.

Googly what...........OK. Not sure how to respond to this. I have found when it degrades to this point my argument is pretty sound indeed.

You should go after the message itself...........

While I did not star the post I do kinda get the broader point. This administration has caused an even greater divide because they seek to cause even further division. Why.....who knows it could be many reasons. Personally I think it is all part of plan to keep the folks at the bottom at each others throats instead of seeking unity.

I was just asking because your post to which I was replying seemed to be about the statistics I posted (which were linked in the post you replied to.)

But those statistics ("mine") are for the first half of the year only and are way out of line with the numbers you gave. I guess there must be an major increase during the second half of the year.

I will not put my blame entirely on the people of Baltimore. It seems like the cops are pouting and willing to prove a point by sitting back and watching the city Slip into this level of violence.

The fault is with the perps, not the cops.
What do you want the cops to do? Be preemptive in their arrests?
Then everyone would be ranting about how evil the cops are.

Your statistics must be wrong.

Baltimore has one of the toughest gun control laws in the country, I believe.

And as we all know, gun control laws stop gun crimes.

I feel so safe.

Haven't you heard.

According to our current Administration and their representatives.

ALL police are racist.

Thats bs and you know it.
No one in any position of authority has been that divisive, people have pointed out the obvious and clear bias in many cities around the country when it comes to race and policing - you can't claim that's "not fair" when it's proven in all available statistics.

In Baltimore, the police UNION has been the one being divisive and claiming these officers should go without ANY investigation at all, and even threatening the city with strikes if anyone DARE try to hold these people to account for their actions!

The Police unions are the ones attempting to use threats to prevent any action being taken at all, if they had their way all police across the country would be operating without any oversight at all.

These officers did wrong, someone died in their custody, they need to be held to account and the union needs to start behaving in a professional way, start speaking like representatives of a public service rather than a warring party. The police are not an independent group of law enforcers, they work for the public, and the union needs to STFU when the public demands that some of their own be held accountable.

The union seems to think that if you wear a uniform you can kill and get away with it, to be honest they need a smack down.

If the police there are now incapable of doing their damn jobs they should be fired and replaced. The city should have started a recruitment drive immediately anyway, predicting that they would end up losing a lot of ignorant and dangerous officers - and good riddance to bad rubbish.
