My skin is crawling all over again. Damn nasty demonic little buggers! I couldn't imagine so many on me at once. I think I'd go crazy.

I was absolutely going crazy. I finally....... well, there was a bottle of dog shampoo in the cabinet, for fleas and ticks. Now, I certainly can't vouch for this because it clearly says "for canine use only" on the bottle. But my sanity was at stake. So, in the shower, I put it all over me, like a lotion. Waited for about 10 seconds and then stepped back into the hot water and rinsed it off. Didn't see any more after that. They were so small. : ( Le petite monsters.

Whatever works. I probably would have done the same.

How can it not be bad/good.
It has Clint Howard.
I have seen it, but my memory seems to have blacked it out post-trauma.

Personal anecdote . Travelled to the US a while ago now and travelled the country in an RV with some American friends . Long story short i got a tick behind the knee , wife seen it and said didnt you wash yourself properly . Anyways went inside the house of our friends extended family and said , what do you do with one of these . Well it was like a fire drill , i was told to lean over the table ( was in shorts ) they heated a needle up and stuck it under the ticks butt . Thing jumped out and tried to run away . Thanks for that wonderful memory America .

I hear Alabama ticks dig in quite well...

I take it that there aren't any ticks where you're from. It could have been worse. There could have been twenty of them.

Remind me never to go to Alabama. The one's I've encountered here are bad enough.

Ticks heads appear to be threaded. A joke, to be sure, but accurate nonetheless. I take a piece of credit card folded over with a rubber band to loosely hold the body flat, them spin it.

Seems only counterclockwise works, but they come right out, mouth parts and all. Wish I knew it when I was a kid. It works like magic.

I'll not try clockwise again unless I'm in the southern hemishpere. Lol

No need to tell me to be fearful of woodticks.

I've had a horrible phobia of those damn things since I was a child.

Just ask my hubby... he's had to tackle me and pin me to the ground many times just so he could get a tick off of me. I go into instant panic mode like as if a fricken mountain lion is trying to eat me alive.

Kind of like little drill bits. That's a good thing to know.

He's had to tackle you? What do you do, run around screaming like you're on fire?
Really, I'm not making fun. I hate them, too. I imagine your reaction is like mine if I have a spider on me. I've been known to cross the room in a leap.

Hell yes !

It's silly, because I have no fear of any other bugs, or snakes, or mice, or whatever.

Just them damn ticks.

*shivers*

Well, it could be worse. At least you don't hyperventilate and go into a dead faint.

I have to say that I haven't seen as many ticks this year since we've had the chickens loose. I had friends that had guinea hens. They're good for keeping the ticks down, too. I heard that they also eat rodents and snakes.

I'm glad I am not the only one.
Any other bug doesn't bother me at all, but ticks give me that I wanna run and hide feeling...lol
