Nickelback was accused of "impersonating musicians", and citizens were warned that seeing them could prove "hazardous to your hearing and street cred.”

The Queensland Police ridiculed the band on Twitter and Facebook.

The article states:
Wherever the guys in Nickelback go, jokes about their music follow.

There's a reason for that. They suck.
Criritcs of the band are often reminded of the band's popularity. As one critic says:
"Just because people buy a billion dollars worth of Busch light a year doesn't mean it's good beer."
Amen.

Nickelback is a multi-platinum selling band, which brings to mind an old Jello Biafra quote:
"The dumbest buy the mostest."

It's not about music any more, it's about profit and popularity. Look at most popular performers now. Most can't play an instrument or perform live without row after row of sound boards to make their voice tolerable. Outside of a studio, they can't hold a note and their voices are so altered, if you heard them without all the "help", you'd wonder how they ever became famous. Clapton can sit down with an acoustic guitar and a single mic and mesmerize an audience for hours. Let's see Pitbull, Bruno Mars or Beiber do that.

By the way....I actually like Nickleback...........well, some of it.

I fully support the actions of the Queensland police in this matter. Nickleback are one of the biggest threats to guitar lead music, currently abroad in the world.

I agree. These guys should be charged, like many other "artists", for doing a disservice to humanity.

Crap "music" should not be allowed on public radio. Mind you, the stations that do play it are just blacklisted by myself immediately. So, do as you please...

As for the people who gleefully listen to this crap...thanks for "wearing a sign" to let me know where you are intellectualy. I will joyfully avoid eye contact and conversation at all costs.

I dunno on this one. If these charges stick, it could mean we all could be charged with some crap. Like "You are charged with being an idiot! It is detrimental to society for you to roam the streets..." WTF Man?! Or did I miss something here?! Just wow...

They try too hard on stage to look cool.
But the actual music sounds pretty good to me.

it's fun to hate stuff, and to dump our built up frustration on someone, like celebrities.
People like to say they are so vocal about it because they want to defend/ protect "good music" but that's a load of bull.
There are loads of musicians that are just as bad or worse than Nickelback but nobody gives a crap about them.
It has nothing to do with defending good music or some such nonsense, it's just that people found a way to act like a-holes without being criticized for it so they climb aboard.
If you really hate Nickelback or one direction or whatever it is that is unworthy of mainstream attention you know what the smartest thing to do is? not talk, tweet or post about them at all.

...but where is the fun in that?

Don't the Queensland Police Have anything that matters to do instead of being half assed music critics?

Who cares what music they like?

I actually like this song.

Can't say I'm a fan of that band, however police simply shouldn't be that way.

They should be more professional than that.

A lot of people have that one song they always turn too when they are feeling down or stressed to cheer them back up, to make them feel better. What right does anyone have to talk negatively about music that some people listen too when feeling like that.

Sure, you can dislike many bands, and have long debates over it, but you have to at least respect that it makes other people feel better. If this came from anyone else, it wouldn't matter as much, however coming from authorities, I guess it just goes over my head.

This is just a public relations strategy, that I personally find amusing.

But it probably goes over your head because your naive to who the state police actually are and what they really stand for. There an organized gang who do more damage to the public than any criminal gang could ever achieve. Sometimes for the purpose of gaining a promotion within there ranks, but usually just for kicks, because they know they can get away with it.

If you ever dare to stand up to there corrupt methods, you'll inevitably just end up on your face in cuffs and maybe even on your way to jail. Unless your black, in that case you might even end up dead!

Anyway, I've said enough! So lets just keep on smiling and saying "yes sir" and "no sir", simply for the the purpose of maintaining our very freedoms. Because we all know us cattle don't have the minerals to stand up as one.

If one member of the cattle dares to separate from the herd, they will just be consumed by the blood thirsty wolves.
