So, I was idly cruising around random YouTube posts yesterday to kill some time, and I ran across this:

Now, I am not going to knock the video itself. What really interested me about it is the map tacked on at the very end. If I could have just grabbed that map to use, I would have. It's a fascinating thing.

The concept of a terrain/continent altering DOOM for the US has been around for a while, at least since 1979. Someone called George Scallion seems to have started the idea of a pole shift which he claimed would drastically alter the US between the last weeks of July that year and mid-September.

This is a version of the map he had that was supposed to show the aftermath of the event.

Flash forward to more recent times. A more sophisticated version of this map has circulated as a supposedly leaked Navy map showing how the US government planned to use HAARP to split up the US.

And now it seems that Doom is getting back to the pole reversal theory, only with the map at the end which takes the original to extremes.

Now, the reasons I'm putting it here is that we all now pole reversals happen. It's just a matter of time until the next one.

What I want to know is ... how on earth do you get that map at the end? Knowing what I know about the areas on the map and their current topography, there's just no way. I'd like to think I'm living on the high ground along with all my family ... but it just doesn't wash without some serious topographical changes.

It's an interesting thought exercise though.

I thought the poles shift about 30-40 degrees, not a complete reversal of 180 degrees.

It looks like it takes out most of the main population centers, on both coasts and the mid-west.

I remember seeing a doc about it once where magnetic north and south flip, but this video sounded more like the whole planet was going to physically role or something which might cause the kind of topographic re-arrangements needed to flood a strip of land through eastern Colorado and Western Kansas while leaving the Rockies and Flint Hills high and dry. But realistically, the land just goes up and up even if it is flat looking the further west you go. So I don't see how you wind up with water through that area for starters.

I never said it was real. That's why it's in General Chat and not some other category like Predictions or something. I found the map interesting because it's so improbable and I've been trying to figure out how you could arrive at it as even plausible which is the aim of the general chat.

I also found the general evolution of the map itself to be interesting going to from pole shift, to HAARP and now back to a pole shift.

Looks and sounds a lot like Edgar Cayce's predictions of the future on the changing of the world. The map is why I remembered his prophecies from a long time ago.

I have read Scallion's stuff before. I find the map interesting, but I think he is doing it just to sell stuff and doesn't truly have any insight.

Let's forget the validity of the map for a second and ask if / how that could happen.

The answer is yes and the how is massive tectonic activity.

A look at Wilpena Pound in the mangnificent Flinder's Ranges here in South Australia not only reveals a natural wonder but also something rather curious. Sea Fossils - hundreds of miles from any coast. In fact large areas of South Australia were sea floor at some time in the past, the area was known as the Adelaide Sea.

Sea fossils can also be found in other mountain ranges.

So the question is not so much whether it could happen, but what the mechanism to make it happen would be. I have never yet come across a decent explanation of why the earth's crust was so unstable in the distant past that sea floor became mountains and areas of land were lost below the waves.

Presumably if there are earthquakes big enough to do that to Australia, other countries would also have been greatly changed as well.

As far as that goes, the entire area put high and dry, the Flint Hills region and west, was ancient sea bed.

But for it to all go down suddenly like that when the tectonic activity that produced the drying of that ancient inner sea was gradual, would be some extremely wicked activity indeed. You are talking about some areas of crust that are actually higher elevation now sinking in a strip while the two areas on either side either remain at elevation or get higher up.

I am not referring to the magnetic poles. The pole shift that I am speaking of is the movement of the rotational axis of the Earth.
Imagine that the Earth becomes off balance and wobbles enough that the spin re-establishes on a new axis. The reasons that I have seen posited for this to happen would be large scale melting of ice caps in an asymmetrical fashion or a pass by of a large mass, such as a planet.
For the Earth to flip 180 degrees due to being out of balance would be quite an unlikely event, imo.

You see evidence of it all over the place. Where I grew up in NZ was a large flat plain between two mountain ranges, leading out to a firth. They did some exploratory drilling on the neighbour's farm, just to see what was underneath our feet when I was there and the results were extremely interesting.

The top layer was Peat (decomposed forest) on top of marine clay. That was nothing new or exciting as we all knew the clay was there - as the peat sunk from drainage it slowly exposed the clay after many years. But under the clay suprisingly was another layer of peat. Meaning that the area had been a forest before it was a seabed before it was a forest. Under the peat layer was another layer of marine clay and below that was sand.

There is also evidence in the mountain ranges running along both sides of this great plain that the land has raised and lowered significantly during earthquake activity i.e. it may not have been as simple as the ocean receding due to the ice age making an nice place for a forest to grow, only to be swamped again as the ice melted away.

As I said in my last post, I've always wondered what caused the planet to go into such a cycle of volcanic and earthquake activity and whether it could happen again and what starts it off.

Seems like a lot of water. Did they consider the movement of water, the speed and force. There would be a great amount of sediment being moved around during the process. Where does all that settle?

Back in the late 1990s, I took a map of the USA and colored it in according to how self proclaimed "catholic seers" said things were going to happen. About a dozen people around the world claimed visions of Mary and/or Jesus and that they were shown the map of the USA and what it would look like. The map I came up with looks very much like the map you have posted here.

That implies something almost like, earth's plates, go up and down, on some kind of cycle basis.

Well if there is a land mass rising in the ocean and we're to become the next great ocean, with a few islands, that map may indicate something like that.

Do not even begin to like or consider that map as a likelihood. Though have no idea if such a cycle is upcoming or ages away, if at all.

What annoys me is all the maps stop at the border and you can't see what is happening in BC.

As he says the blackout areas of the map shown will be the only safe areas. I'd assume those areas not from sediment but rather high elevation areas. Specifically the Pacific NorthWest, the sentiment would probably accumulate in the valleys before the Cascade range before making it Inland? Wonder why the Cascades and other areas are not blacked out as well?

Or that some mechanism ie giant meteor impact, earths core warming, huge external gravitational distortion etc could have set in motion a set of catastrophic events in the past.

All these doom maps suggest something similar could happen again.

I know, I would like to see what's going on in the Pacific Ocean. There would have to be some pretty incredible lifting of the sea floor. To displace that much water.

I wonder if combined with volotial volcanic activities if new land masses would appear.
