I cannot go there either I am sorry to say. Are we to be without then? Even my old classmate Stan MacChrystal retreated to preserve his pension and Ray Odierno will apparently play the game to the same end. Perhaps it is good that I am much closer to the end of my days than the beginning.

Sadly, over a certain rank, an officer must become a politician to survive.

Stay safe and don't be rioting over any eggnog.

I do not know what they drilled into you, but what was beaten into me was that our obligation was to a loftier authority than what we were told to do by our "superiors". The last two positions I held,\ I was terminated from because I would not bend what I believed to be right, and because I would not order my men to violate Federal laws for the financial gain of my employer. I am still standing and still doing well and my honor is intact, can those who did not say the same? Whatever happened to sacrifice for the greater good?

I don't disagree with you at all. My experience was the same, albeit a decade and some change after yours. Hence the reference to Mac's farewell speech . That lofty aspiration and dream has been beaten out of our officer class recently--much to our detriment.

Let civilian voices argue the merits or demerits of our processes of government. Whether our strength is being sapped by deficit financing indulged in too long, by federal paternalism grown too mighty, by power groups grown too arrogant, by politics grown too corrupt, by crime grown too rampant, by morals grown too low, by taxes grown too high, by extremists grown too violent; whether our personal liberties are as firm and complete as they should be.

These great national problems are not for your professional participation or military solution. Your guidepost stands out like a tenfold beacon in the night: Duty, Honor, Country.

I do not necessarily agree with the last statement.

I am going to call this a win for me..

I did state the elections are rigged.. And The Clinton/Sanders DNC of 2016 proved me right..

I was only wrong about Job though.. Nobody saw Trump coming.. Nobody..

I however still are not voting..

This is why..

Have a good day.
