It is like in The Three Kingdoms warring period in China after the Fall of Han Dynasty (220-280 AD), where three kingdoms Han, Shu, and Wei all had kings that proclaimed themsleves to be the Emperor and successor of the Han Dynasty's previous Emperor. Therefore, based on that same example, most Muslims don't recognize Baghdadi as Caliphate, any more than a Shu Emperor would recognize a Wei Emperor as the sucessor of the Han Empire and successor of all lands and territory in China at that time previously governed by the Han Dynasty.
