It's A Wonderful LIFE! or Not?

For those of you not familiar with the title, this is a Frank Capra movie starring Jimmy Stewart...He becomes despondent over his life and jumps in an icy river and dies only to be saved by his guardian Angel Clarence...He begins to show George (Jimmy) what life was like for those around him when he was alive, compared to what it was like if he had never been born. I think many people would feel different about their own lives if they had this opportunity.

Wouldn't you love to be George? The opportunity to see the world without you in it? If you knew how many lives you touched without trying? We all affect each other no matter whether we know it or not, but I believe we get so wrapped up in our own misery that we fail to realize there is much more to life than what we see.

I would consider my life a complete success, but I am broke, no job and dependent upon the graces of others to survive daily. I am blessed. I have an understanding that goes deeper. I do not base my worth on materialistic endeavors. There is more to give that comes from within, the power of my soul.

Many people give up on life because they see no end to their misery and don't want to face the consequences, but there is a lesson to learn, we have to know how one thing feels in order to understand another feeling.

You do matter. You touch the lives of those around you daily, strangers and family alike, whether you know it or not.

Wonderful and more power to you.. Hopefully everyone finds their sweet spot in life.

For me I have a very successful well paying career in a place that makes a difference in the world that keeps me ultra busy which constantly challenges my mind. Because of that I am able to care for my family in whatever way they want or need. I consider my life , to this point , a complete success.

The main thing there for me is both approaches to life are equally valid, noble or honorable and I am happy for everyone that has hit on the winning formula.

Because an icon, lyric or avatar on a forum is not indicative of who I am or anything in the real world for me.
That and the dudes from Immortal always make me lol.

It's been my experience that you only get what you go looking for.

Yes it is a wonderful life! I had a heart attack 6 years ago from which I've recovered nicely. I live every day to the fullest. I try to add some small amount of happiness to people I pass on the street simply by saying hello. They usually smile and say hello back. I believe I have made a difference. A dear friend of mine recently posted this about me on FB and I'm very proud of it....

I believe a soul mate isn't always found in a romantic partner. I know this because mine is a dear friend I met years ago. One who doesn't judge even when I should be. One who never tells me I told you so even though he did. One who still accepts me even after I make stupid decisions. One who knows me inside out and still loves me. Thank you *************** for always being my friend even when I didn't deserve it.

So Yes, it's a wonderful life
