Howzit?

ATS is a very interesting community of which I love being a part but I feel I'm not giving you all the respect I feel you deserve because I'm on an old blackberry and while posting posts is no problem, keeping up with the reply's is.

And so... I'm not going to post from my black berry anymore (unless a UFO lands in my back yard)

I have a laptop and I can use my phone as a modem so I will purchase airtime regularly and visit ATS on my laptop at least once per day. I want to reply to all of you who take time to leave reply's on my posts or else you all might come to think of me as aloof or uninterested but I AM interested.

Sorry to all the people who feel deserved a reply who didn't get one I promise its due to technical difficulties and its not personal nor do I think I am above any of you. I'm here to learn and question and answer just like everyone else.

A big thanks to those of you who I've noticed quite often on my threads.

So bottom line... My next post will be from my laptop and not from my mobile so I can concentrate on on being involved more on the very interesting (sometimes heated) conversations that go on on ATS. So this is my last post from my mobile.

To those with ONLY mobiles I say just hang in there!

Shot bru!

well dude dont worry. Many of us who have conversated with you understand . Just curious if you used your phone more often because of the rolling power outages you mentioned some time ago. I also just assumed your inability to reply often may have also been a result of those same power issues in your country.

No for the past month, month and a half the power has only been off in my area for two hours a day at a very irritating time between 6pm and 8pm - that's the time I want to eat supper and shower and watch tv.

So my mobile also stops working when the power goes off -gets no signal- I think that's because the towers near us also get no power.

The pain reason I battle to reply is that I hate typing on a qwerty keyboard because the keys are so small and its single digit typing.

Woah that sucks. All the cell towers around here at least have backup generators. Dead air is bleeding profits for telecom companies. Well hopefully things have not been too turbulent. Plus you mentioned in another thread there is some serious initiative on part of the government to go into more sustainable power sources if I am not mistaken? that should make a difference in a few years no?

Sometimes I don't know whether to love my country or hate my country

Time will tell

I can imagine how dead air would eat profit.

I also post from a mobile device, so I cant keep up with replies as much as I would like to. I can't have too many tabs open at once. It is sometimes difficult to change pages. So yeah, it sucks. I look forward to seeing you when you come back.

Amazing bit of info that is to my ears.

"In the Olden Days", hard line phones were powered from the central exchange that had back up in case power went out. The phones still worked during blackouts.

The phone connected to the wall of your home with a wire was indestructible, cost five dollars and unlimited talk and long distance was 7 dollars a month… Bwah, wah.

Come so far have we?
