Don't get me wrong, I'm all about the scientific method. But goddamn has science let me down.

We should be inhabiting mars by now and kicking back with free energy. But instead, we're still kicking back in low earth orbit and burning primate coal for simple energy.

Iphones and flat screen TV's are all well and good, but when are we gonna create a technology that will actually advance mankind?

Maybe if our government would stop spending trillions in military spending and start investing in new energy technologies and recycling, maybe the world could than stop fighting over oil and be on a path toward peace and work together to benefit mankind.

But I do not see a solution to that happening in many years. If we got rid of all the greedy people and the people who wanted to dominate the world maybe then this could be considered. I'm not putting much faith in the rapture of Revelations happening in my lifetime. I will put faith in the idea that things are still going to get much worse though.

well in answer to your last question when the controllers stop trying to dominate mankind.

are you of the mind of the conspiracy theory that the controllers stopped Tesla from coming up with the free energy idea for all???

Pretty much!

There's far to much money to be made in the coal & oil industries. So TPTB would do anything to suppress a more effective form of energy. In an attempt to protect there profit margins.

Some would say we are exploring space via a secret space program; or we may at least be discretely gaining foothold militarily or strategically for when we blow ourselves up down here. Fun rabbit hole if nothing else!

When politicians no longer control the budgets for technologies that will advance mankind.

LOL,

Does anyone think we went from a hang glider, to jets, to rockets and landed on the moon in less than 100 years and now we still use the same jet engines and rockets almost 50 years later?

Oh, they have developed wonderful technologies, they were just not released to the public.

What you are really saying is:

Where is my: jetpack/flying car?
disease resistance/lifetime upgrade?
brain chip to link me to the hive?
terraforming robots?

Sit tight, they are all close if you have money or influence.
If not well,
tough.

A lot of things we benefit from today came from military spending. We need to look at spending on the whole, not just one part.

I agree, the future looks bleak. We have a minority of individuals who are running this planet who do nothing but want to wage wars, pound their chests, and threaten the world's population with nukes. Unless the majority of peace loving people around the world organize and unite under one cause, we will end up destroying this planet and all life as we know it. No doubt about it.

We the people of the world, all need to join hands and eliminate weapons and armies used for war. Establish governments whose main purpose would be to benefit mankind and develop peace and friendships with countries around the world. There's power in numbers, we just have to wake-up the sleeping masses. We may need some outside influence to help put us on this peaceful path. Now would be a much better time than later.

What have you been smoking? You sound like a sixties Hippy who lives in a VW van. They actually did have the right idea but of course we were led to believe that they were all doped up. Come to think of it most of them were doped up.

And ever since the revolution of the sixties, we're made to believe expanding the mind is inherently & morally wrong. Yet, killing brain cells with ethanol is just fine.

Maybe that's half the reason society can't see past there own personal bank account and do something of significance, that would benefit humanity as a whole.

You want those things?

You have to go somewhere where there is a market for them. Right now, we still use fossil fuel because fossil fuel is still the most market efficient source.

So, go somewhere where we will need energy, lots of it, and fossil fuel isn't the best source. It creates a market opportunity and a niche to be filled, and guess what? You will see private industry rush to be the ones to fill that vacuum. Guess where there is no ready or easy fossil fuel network? Deep space.

So yeah, we need to get off planet in order to break that fossil fuel barrier. The last time we experienced such a huge burst of technological advance, it was due to the moon shots. I'd say it's about time to either land a permanent colony on the moon or even further out to Mars.

Well, at least some of my extra stem cells went to use repairing my brain from drinking too much at the frat parties in college.

I hate wasting stuff. I wouldn't want to be destroying leftover brain stemcells when they cremate me.

Science or mathematics?

To me, Science as I thought of it and how it was for a very long time, is no more.

Love and Peace man! That's what will make for a better world. Sounds like a fairy tale, but the day the SHTF, people around the world will want change no matter what the consequence. When people lose everything, everyone will be blaming those in charge.

Back in the days of the hippies, I was more interested in doing Spock's Vulcan Salute. That is actually a Jewish hand sign. I didn't even know that till I researched it on the net. I must have spent too much time watching Star Trek, I wound up with some forehead wrinkles that are shaped like the vulcan Salute.

Watching all the science fiction much of my life and now I feel that we do not need this. We have a beautiful place here that provides for us. Twenty years ago I was all about doing things like colonizing Mars but back then the environment was not as much an issue. Now I say, build things to last and screw the economy as an indicator of world power. Maybe we should examine Hippy logic to find our path to the future.

Live long and prosper.
