Peaches Geldof - 'Hand' in the bath

Whilst browsing the Internet today I came across an artice showing an image that Peaches Gedof took of herself and her child when in the bath.

Sadly, a few months later she died of a heroin overdose. I found this picture very creepy and wanted to post it here for your analysis as I can't work out what else those fingers could be. I know that our brain will recognise shapes as things we are most familiar with which is why we look at it and see fingers and a hand, but what else could this be?

Peaches herself claimed that she had checked the council’s back catalogue and found out the 1920s building had been built by a wealthy man and his wife, who was pregnant at the time.

She said the woman had given birth to a stillborn baby and that she was so grief-stricken she had gone mad and drowned herself in the bath.

I've seen this image before, and honestly, I don't really find it too disturbing. To me it simply looks as though the child is stretching her left arm behind herself and her mother. It wouldn't be unreasonable for her arm length to accomplish this, and the fingers are at the correct position for it to be possible. It's unfortunate we don't see much more of a view, as it would help this theory out if we could at least see the child's other shoulder.

Personally, I believe in the existence of ghosts. However, this image, coupled with this theory, isn't really too far out there to be a likely explanation. And where there is a likely explanation when it comes to paranormal research, it's probably the case that that explanation is the cause.

EDIT: Here's an example of what I'm talking about. Except the child's arm is behind her head and her mother's neck.

I think we should just let Peaches Geldof rest in peace and let all this silly speculation stop. Search through 100 random photos of other people's lives and you'll find things you don't understand, or things you want to believe are something they are not.

It's not as if people are just picking on this photo for no particular reason. Peaches Geldof actually claimed it was a mysterious hand that appeared and that it "belongs to a ghost." No on is calling her crazy or insane, we're just discussing the notion.

Much like the last time I saw this picture, it looks like a hair Scrunci to me. Poor lighting, and the color would obviously play a role in the appearance of the picture.

I think that the baby is very flexable and that what we see in the picture is the mother's hand holding the foot of the baby as the babies leg is folded up behind. See the ankle at the bottom of the leg and the foot, the mother is holding the foot by the toes.

Its obviously her hand resting on her own knee.

What you see as an ankle line is an illusion created by the waterline on her knee.

Use some common sense people.

I don't think any of the suggestions fit. Unless the baby is a contortionist. It's definitely too small to be the mother's hand. I think it must be the baby's hand, but I haven't figured out how..

I think she has her hair in pigtails. It looks like a scrunchy or a hair tie.

Perhaps there is another child behind the baby in the pic. It does look like fingers.

yeah. I remember reading about that in the BBC when it happened. It's so sad when someone with so much yet to give passes tragically at a young age due to awful drug addiction.

I don't really know who she is or what her dad is really. I suppose someone famous. But if she pointed it out herself I don't see why we shouldn't be discussing it. Unfinished business or something like that, you know?

At first I didn't think it looked too odd or weird or ghostly, either. But after hearing that Peaches Gedolf had thought that the picture was strange/ghostly--I'm way more inclined to believe that she might well have a point, seeing as how events played out leading to her being dead after the picture being taken.

Y'know, when the bell tolls for thee who can say what you'll see or experience beforehand--perhaps a premonition/warning telling her to cut it out with the heroin.

Its not too small to be the mothers hand. Its perspective. Her face is closer to the camera and her arm is pulled back.

Its simple and obvious.

Hard to tweet her since she passed away, but no it's her own hand not her moms. It's clear as day.

Its her hand on her knee in the bathtub and her bending forward so her face is closer to the camera.

I have found another source where Peaches herself said the following:

"'And no that isn't my hand - one of mine was round his waist to hold him during the photo, the other holding the camera to take the shot. Also the hand is around ym shoulder so totally weird angle if I did it myself. How terrifying!! (sic)'"

I can't see how it's the kids hand as his arm is tight to his body in a natural downward position, he would have to be double-jointed to be bending it back up like that.

I do wish the picture was bigger.
