Not sure if anyone has said this and I guess its a big spoiler so DO NOT READ if your following/watching UNDER THE DOME on TV.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SPOILER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The premise of Stephen King's Under the Dome is what I imagined were alien kids that have trapped the people in the dome and are messing with them using the 'device'. They didnt have faces so I am not sure if they were kids but I got that feeling while reading. Sorta like a human kid burning ants with a magnifying glass. Now the whole story is about how they react after being cut off from the world but the climax is when you find out it is those beings with no faces that are in control of the dome over the town. These could be alien kids or they could be a supreme being but i got the impression that they were aliens. Its an interesting perspective once it sets in and you think about it for a little bit. Pretty good book but the show is off in my opinion. Not sure why a network thought they could do a King book justice, just so much left out that cant be shown on network TV. It would have to be on a premium channel in my opinion. Dont think the network is going to show Juniors closet full of "girlfriends" as he calls them or all the raping and pillaging him and his posse do once the town is cut off. It might have gotten better but i stopped watching after the pilot because of discrepancies in the story. I usually get aggravated at TV or movie adaptations of books because of the stuff they leave out or their additions to the story so i normally dont watch them.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! End Spoiler !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the spoiler. I didn't finish the book and I can't stand the show. It's nice to know how it ended and exactly what was going on.

Perhaps this song best describes how I feel about Disclosure:

www.youtube.com...

I should note that according to aliens, sex is very good(as long as it's consensual of course), as it raises both people's vibrations.

If we are aware of a simulation, wouldn't the simulation either end -- or reprogram itself to preserve the simulation in such a way to make it impossible to determine its a simulation?

Additionally, if this is some kind of program or simulation -- there must be ways to hack, bend, push and pull it to our needs.

I've been waiting for my wizard powers quite patiently ...

That puts our motives on an intelligence that is beyond our ability to comprehend. We would stare at it the same as a dog looks at you. You would occasionally be amazed by mundane acts, while at the same time what appear to be mundane acts are a wonder beyond your comprehension. Like your dog watching you type on a computer.

Well, if my "sims" because self aware in my virtual world for them, wouldn't it ruin the fun? Wouldn't I just want to start all over again?

Not necessarily it all depends on the parameters of the simulation/experiment, maybe one of the stages of the simulation/experiment is checking how the local intelligence copes with the fact they are in a closed system/simulation

I would leave the simulation running and would study the reactions of different races/civilizations.

If we are in a simulation then what we 'know' about the universe could be completely wrong if the simulation doesn't have rules that model the real universe. Our search for answers would never reveal the real truth.

->Such as an infinity of Fractions would be larger than an infinity of whole numbers..

Really?
By what measurement?

Do you think a square can be larger, smaller or the same size as a cube?

Certainly. We like to be entertained....and that is a motive behind an enormous amount of human effort.

what kind of motive would be behind a being that was disinterested in being entertained? Of course, it is a "what is the sound of one hand clapping" type of question.

True, and how can we even conceivably put ourselves into the shoes of a being that's mind operates on an entirely different dimensional level. I doubt an ant could entertain what we humans think about.

who's to say an ant could even contemplate us as anything separate from them or nature?

a chimp walks up to a building, it doesn't contemplate how we built it. It just sees it as another part of the natural world. Meanwhile an ant, it walks up to a human and all it sees is another part of its natural world. But then again, i think on an ants level there is no such thing as "us" and "them" in the robust and abstract way we are talking here.

Why would you want to hack the simulation? In general, the Simulator doesn't interfere in our affairs(someone else does, but most likely, they're E.Ts within the simulation). Most of our misery is self-inflicted.

Recognizing the identity of others, from the individual to the group level, is a hallmark of society. Ants, and other social insects, have evolved advanced societies characterized by efficient social recognition systems. Colony identity is mediated by colony specific signature mixtures, a blend of hydrocarbons present on the cuticle of every individual (the “label”).

Recognition of Social Identity in Ants

Are you sure?

Ants are all about "us and them".

P.S. Remember the ants in The Once and Future King?

You appear to be arguing about a subject you don't know much about.

Please learn more about this subject then come back and let's have a chat about it...

Brains in jars. If our perception is based on electrical impulses and we've seen that we can recreate that and manipulate someone's perception of reality, then it doesn't seem all that crazy.
