I saw it when it came out in theatres...And first, I have to admit I'm not the wisest when it comes to knowing the Bible...
When you're watching the movie, it's clear that there is an inherent bias to the story being told....For those who are very religious, that may
detract from their desire to even continue watching the movie...
But from a cinematic standpoint, it's a very very VERY moving film....The scene where Jesus is tortured by the Roman guards goes on for about 10
minutes and is almost impossible to watch without becoming emotional - even for non-believers such as myself....it's simply the agony and pain that
was captured...
The cinematography is pretty incredible - Lots of dramatic close-up shots that show a bit more than you may want to see....There are frequent
flashbacks here and there, but in truth, only a fraction of the story is told - but that's to be expected given the timeframe of a movie...
It's definitely a film worth seeing - As to whether you'll like it or not, is something very personal...IMO it was an incredible film...
