Answer the door in the nude and ask them in.

Then you will find out Mr Slayer why they all have big smirks on their faces
Jesus loves you

I have to say, I'm enjoying this ongoing, open discussion (off the field of battle), where members, Moderators, Super Moderators, and Administrators can simply drop in, come together to meet, share and exchange info.

If might make a nice addition to ATS...kind of a 24/7 ATS 'Casablanca-like' gathering 'lounge'.

I am not sure why I was chosen but I feel very lucky to work with the people I get to work with and I have a whole new level of respect as to how the site is run.
Very classy and professional and as was already said....consensus.

We might not always agree but we are a team....to me that counts for A LOT.

How often do you all get together to discuss running the site? Do you all get emails from the Administrators on a regular basis?

Carrier Pigeon.

They didn't tell me at first though, and I thought they were chicken hawks and shot 'em down.

We all get together every other Wednesday in a bi-monthly semi-annual way, but only if that Wednesday falls on a prime number, and on the 30th of Feb.

Well if this website is ran like every company I've ever worked for , then they just find the least qualified people and put them in charge.

I wondered about who should mod what forums and thought of Zaphod since I notice he knows all about aviation, and I see him posting in that forum. So he was a good example to use.

The answer is pretty much what's been described here, diversity of opinion, decency, intelligence, and the ability to debate the topic rather than defame your fellow are what we look for. When we notice a member who has those attributes we add them to an ongoing list of names that we refer to when we see the need coming for more staff.

The actual decision process is a matter of matching the needs of the site with the attributes/skill set of the individual(s) being considered.

I can tell you that each and every one of those who have staff under their name I consider a friend and have immense appreciation and respect for their altruism.

Just as the site would not be what it is without each and every member, it could not be what it is without these people giving of their time and intelligence on the staff.

I know Springer should always have the last word on anything ATS...but as OP, I just want to thank ALL of the mems, Mods (EVEN the 'Mean Girls' 'Mod squad' who made fun of my ATS 'Lounge' idea)
, Super Mods, Administrators and Owner...for answering all our questions. It was fun to learn about how the 'other half' lives.
Thanks again,
-TAT

There is such a thing in nature Mr Springer called the judas goat
en.wikipedia.org...

I may be young at this conspiracy stuff / but i learn really quick

p.s i think i might just buy up some shares in some conspiracy sites as they all seem to need money to keep them afloat and some change hands like used cars , a good buisness idea that none seem to jump at
