He did avoid, masterfully, and this is one of the things that makes the current state of professional boxing less enjoyable to watch than MMA fighting. Mayweather won by playing a great game of keep away for 12 rounds. MMA's "solution" to that tactic is the variety of ways one man can beat down another, in the octagon, MP would have entered this fight with the intent of taking FM down to the canvas where wingspans mean very little. Boxing should seriously consider an "avoidance scoring penalty" of some sort, or else go back to the old days of having 4 weight classes and rarely seeing a boxer move up the classes to the point where his reach and height disadvantages were laid bare.

This was the welterweight version of Lewis/Holyfield. Holyfield was the better boxer, a much purer fundamental fighter, but he gave up too much reach and Lewis held him at arms length for 12 rounds. Same thing here, IMO.

Well it went as expected... a Mayweather master-class but by god is Mayweather a boring fighter.
I can appreciate that it takes serious skill and technique to do what he does and maintain a record like he has but for me, he is the opposite of everything I want in a Boxer and a boxing match.

Exactly... it is what it is man.
Two people in a ring and if the other guy doesn't like him ducking and diving and weaving and "running" then do something about it

Having spent 18 years fighting in Chinese and S. Pacific arts specialization is the key to evolution. Boxers are absolute masters of fisticuffs. ..I always had to take a boxer to the mat to win. ..legs elbows knees included to win. Their angles and speed/power is incredible. guys

And then there's some boxers that are damn nasty too. As in hitting with the elbow. Below the belt. Rabbit punches. Head butting, etc.
