Here, in my part of Ca, we have weasel, fox, chicken hawks, and gophers as problem (not necessarily in that order).

Being at odds with so many creatures, its sounds more like YOU are the problem. Maybe you should find another place to live!

Foxes are amazing at adapting to human environments and often live in suburban areas yet remain unseen by most. I found over a dozen active den sites in 1 year along a single creek. The are the wariest of all mammals except for the big cats.

There was a recent survey in the uk on the numbers of foxes living in the cities. They discovered just how adaptable they really are. They have completely changed their diet without any ill health.

YOU are wrong. I should leave my home because of foxes? Do you realize how many critters were killed to build your home, city, or town? Hypocrite often?

I had to come out of hiding and thank you for this thread.

Always learning something new about my Vulpesian kin. Never would have guessed that they were so attuned to the magnetic field to the point where one could possibly glimpse it. You gave me something to dig for.

Well there is such a thing as a domesticated fox. Many people keep them as pets.

There is also a farm in Russia where they've been experimenting with them in regards to the physical traits and behavioral change through domestication and human interaction for at least 50 years.

It's very interesting to actually see how it all works.

Beautiful animals.
I see them ever ware. citys to.
I would love fox eyes!

they are going to lose a pair of Lynxes in UK.
to see it they can live with farmers!
should set free wolfs to.

they say the deer damage the woods to much.
so the lynx will keep the numbers down.

Hence the term, As cunning as a Fox!!

I agree they are cool, and pretty cute looking but i also have a gripe - their sexual activity is annoying and thats not got any connection to the amount i may or may not be getting, if you havnt heard foxes mating before you certainly will when you do!!! Not that i put animals in blenders, but if i did i expect it would sound very similar, who said sex was pleasurable?!

Neat info about the Fox . I had a very young one and wanted to tame it but never could .I was out walking one day and seen one feeding on a dead fox in the ditch .I was a bit surprised .My Uncle told me that when a group of Coyotes move into a new area one of the first things they do is to kill off the Fox .Something to do with unwanted competition for food .

No, not a sandwich, it's just stacking it so it can carry all of it back to the den to feed the babies.

Actualy YOU are wong! Here in the uk if construction encroaches on wildlife we relocate the wild life, even insects if they are rare. Badgers Foxes Newts Birds etc all get relocated.

Yes they are very noisy! I've had several neighbours say to me "Did you hear that awful noise last night, it sounded like some poor animal was being killed"
Unfortunatly they're not the kind of neighbours to which one could say "Its ok, its just the foxes having a sh*g"

If hes anything like the normal nightlife in the area, he says "thanks that was nice", gives her a fake burrow number and leaves never to be seen again
