If we look at history, it tells us that not only has the unification of rival gangs happened before but, the affects afterwards were clear. In a similar fashion, after the 1992 riots, caused by the beating of Rodney King, the same thing happened.

Forget the LA Riots - historic 1992 Watts gang truce was the big news

Source

This week marks the 20th anniversary of the L.A. Riots. On April 29, 1992, the city erupted in flames after the not guilty verdicts in the trial of the four LAPD officers who beat Rodney King. But another anniversary is getting much less media coverage. The day before the riots, black street gangs in Watts declared a truce in a bloody war that had killed hundreds of young men. It was an extraordinary moment in the city’s history.

LA gangs reportedly call truce, target cops

Not sure if this can be used to gauge the situation, however, l haven't found any information regarding cops being killed by gang members during these riots in 1992 after a truce was called, although the police suspicion is still relevant.

I live in Florida so I am not too worried. The security apparatus is well established here in their is virtually no real gang activity in Florida save for a few neighborhoods in Miami-Dade and maybe Jacksonville. But listen, the police have killed thousands of civilians over the last decade, many with no formal charge, unarmed and even innocent. Not too many people in America are shocked that there is an element taking it personally now and will be retaliating.

There are enough guns here in law abiding hands anyways to keep things from getting out of hand. Florida, IMO is very safe and should not be affected by these threats.

You won't be sorry. The remastered version is amazing. If you really dig The Warriors, check out the Rockstar game they made. It fills in every single plot element leading to and moving after the movie. It's practically a must-have companion guide to the movie.

I am going to call BS on this....

Anyone who is watching the live coverage on CNN, and CAN NOT see the blatant attempts to sensationalize what is happening is a blind idiot. There is clearly an agenda being driven.

Just moments ago CNN talking head, Wolf Blitzer, just cut himself short as he called Protestors/Rioters by a different name. He called them "Insurg" and then quickly cut himself off before finishing the word. Anyoen want to guess what the word was intended to be?

Talking Head Wolf Blitzer while interviewing a Baltimore Police Captain via phone continued to use words like "attacks" against Police. "Attacks" against the City etc etc etc, and even the Cop corrected him by saying, "I wouldn't use the word "attacks", it's more like....." and begun to accurately describe the scene being sure to make note of "outside agitators".

Personally I do not buy the story. Not one bit. And this may come as a newflash for some of you, but don't be fooled by Gangs. Organized gangs, truly organized gangs that have a hierarchy are not completely run by idiots. Many aspects of running a gang is a business. Make no mistake about it, organized gangs make money. By declaring "war" on Police and calling for the death of Police Officers- you effectively shut your own business down by the amount of attention and heat you bring on yourself. You think a Gang can call for the death of Police Officers and not every single gangbanger is not gonna be harassed throughout the whole city? Real tough to move your dope/guns/ or whatever else you are moving under those circumstances.

Sorry- not buying it.

I'm just so proud of America right now.

What a class act!

*Applause*

I just can't wait for the politicians to step in once the dust has settled and the blood has dried.

Won't we ALL feel safer!

Okay, I haven't caught up since my last post, because I had to go out and get some fresh air and think......

WHAT THE HELL do these rioters want?

What about any of this will help?

Riot currently going on, with police running around a neighbourhood like headless chickens, being pelted with bricks and firing back tear gas and flash bangs by the looks of it. CBS Live Feed It really is looking pretty ugly there already, and these are just kids from the looks of things, but there's things going on in different areas according to the reports. I have a feeling things are going to be bad in Baltimore tonight. When the rioters realize the police aren't good at mobilizing and moving, and that they are significantly outnumbered, things spiral out of control very easily.

baltimore.cbslocal.com...

Thanks Rocker for the link and its looking a bit tense at the moment. I suggest to all posters here to hit this link and keep it open.

If the Police are attacked, they have every right to defend themselves. Violence and destroying public property is not the answer. The family of the victim say they do not support this lawlessness. This is how it all starts. ~$heopleNation

I guess if we're not fighting wars abroad (Iraq/Afghanistan) we're fighting wars at home.

That video was released last week not today. Plus, I was specifically referring to the threat of violence against police from gang members, not cops killing people who are breaking the law by being black on a weekday.

Did the president appointed a new Justice Department secretary today? I believe she is on meetings now addressing this problem.

It just never ends. I almost get the feeling that somebody is behind the scenes stirring things up with these protests. How many does this make in the last year or so?

behind the scenes stirring things up??.......I think the "stirring up" has already been done by the police all across this nation. the only difference is the police are being recorded, and in a lot of different locations.....you don't need provocateurs, when you have the police blatantly killing unarmed black people on video.

The "stirring things up" has to do with running the stories now on MSM.

Anyone that cared knew the that these types of abuses by police were happening, but within the last 2-3 years we've seen an explosion of their coverage on TV/news.

There seems to be an agenda to incite outrage and anger by someone, telling the media to shift their focus of reporting onto these stories.

WHAT THE HELL do these rioters want?

The rioters are just a pawn and are to blinded by hate, scapegoats and revenge to know what they want. Its the people that are pulling the string that obviously want a riot.

Why does the MSM want the riots and pushing for the riots is the question.

I know chaos generates ratings which turns to money for them, but I have a feeling there is more to this than just ratings. However, maybe its just that simple they are evil corporate @ssholes that are willing to kill for a buck?
