I have often felt that The Animals version of House of the Rising Sun should go down as one of the greatest songs ever..
That being said I saw this live version from 1964 come across my Google+ stream earlier and wanted to post it..

Amazing..I have never heard that before..thanks so much for posting it..

I have been on a Tim Buckley kick recently...Probably hard for people to believe if they look at my avatar and all the grim stuff that makes me lol..

Anyway, this is one of those songs that you just need to put on headphones, close your eyes and get lost.

You will get no argument from me that Queen are one of the greatest live bands ever of any era.
This clip is taken from the Concert for Life so obviously Freddie Mercury had already left the world but I love watching Annie Lennox and David Bowie with Queen deliver this performance...

Amazing song yes indeed

I like this one a lot also because the instruments and vocals feel greatly attuned to one and another.

Personally, I think this is the best version of Crazy Train Ozzy ever did.

Just amazing, my favourite song done by a mash up of some of my favourite artists.

After the death of Brian Jones, The Stones where a shadow of their former selves.

Anything post 1969 is trivial.

Don't have a link but I'm sure one is out there. Pearl Jam "Release". Atlanta '94. First concert I ever went to. Still gives me chills to hear it.

Opinions on that score vary. You are welcome to yours.
